World wide TU conference

Reading the thread 'givers and takers' in the hard baits section made me think about the members of the TU, how many there were and how generous everyone is. Also made me think what a tremendous event a TU conference would be with the finest lure makers from all parts of the globe meeting in one place at one time, that would be a truly awesome phenomenon, a unique event bringing together 'electronic cyber friends' face to face. An event big enough to make prime time news and local business's very happy indeed. A conference should have not only social aspects (good beer

and good food) but things like talks by the experts with slideshows and of course trade stands. I myself would happily travel many thousands of miles to attend such an event.

Is this my daft imagination running wild or could this be a possibility

I believe it's being held in Malaysia next year!

There is usually an anual gathering, but it didn't happen this year. Hopefully it will happen again one day.

I must have missed this. How many have been held ?? Have you ever been to one ?? I right fancy Malaysia what a great venue as long as it isn't the rainy season, Malaysian food culture girls and lures sounds like heaven to me

When I first joined TU, everyone was still talking about the previous one and looking forward to the next. Then it all stopped after the crash. Unfortunately, all those threads were lost.

I was only jesting about Malaysia, but seriously, it would be an excellent venue. Lapala runs a lure constructors web site here, through this, the locals could become involved. They could show us all the best fishing venues. An international fishing competition. Catch some wierd and wonderful fish. Then we could take PhilB to meet the girls!

Nice dream, but in the real world, 95% of the membership lives in the USA, common sense dictates the venue.

Hi Guys..It's actually held in Missouri at my house..We had two,and I had too cancel last years..Plans are already going for The last weekend in April as usual for 08...Everbody is welcome!! and trust me..there is plenty of good food and beer!!..Nathan

When you say at your house, are you talking about Clinton, MO aka Truman Res, MO?

And by the last weekend of April, 2008, you mean April 26-27?

I can get reservations at either the Hampton Inn Clinton or the Best Western... which do you recommend?

I want to make sure I get reservations in before they get filled up.

Hi Bruce..Man are you on top of it!!It runs from Fri-Sunday..I don't have a calender handy but if those dates are the last weekend in April..those are it..As for a hotel..both are nice..I think the Hampton in is a bit more expensive..
