Re: Football Pool vent area!

Well you were almost right. Pittsburgh just barely pulled that off. Lately being the underdog hasn't been the worst thing. The season looks like its going to be a tough call with all the upsets going on. I guess we'll just have to sit back and see.

Re: Football Pool vent area!

I have watched quite a few of the top games on cable here, and still don't understand it. The game is so long, I forget who's playing by half time (yes, I'm old), thank god for the score board.
Yeah they are rough and tough, but they have to have a rest every 5 minutes, it's like watching a stretched version of women's bastard ball.
You guys need to have a look at a game of "Aussie Rules", where they score a point for missing, it has to be the fairest/hardest game in the world ! !
Speaking of stretched, I can still follow a 5 day cricket match. Phew, pete

Re: Football Pool vent area!

Pete,
I have seen a game of "Aussie Rules" as imitated by some guys in the military with 2 real Aussies and a guy that was stationed down under for almost 4 years.

There was a ton of action and nobody really seemed to know or be able to share the rules of the game. At least 2 were sent to the Emergency Room to set a broken leg and a fractured collar bone. Oh, and I am pretty sure beer was substituted for water...

It was entertaining to say the least

Bruce- yes, it is as hard to follw for me too, it's an Australianised version of Gaelic football, played with an 'egg', instead of a round ball, rough as guts. pete

Aussie rules footbal is GREAT, I love watching it, dont understand it, but love watching it. Don't forget the good old Rugby Union, another game which takes some heavy duty thinking to work out.

Talking of strange football games try this one for size

Re: Football Pool vent area!

Ahh we can all rest easy knowing thet the Steelers will be the team to beat come playoff time..yeah yeah they didn't look too impressive yet, but the season is young, having the hardest schedule in 25 years is the motivation a team like the steelers will feed off.

beating the jags last night was ok and the teams that are suppose to be good are flatlining so far.

Steelers might not lose more than 3 or 4 games this year, once they get back to full health, they will be a very very tough team to beat.

titans are prtenders and no one else in the AFC looks remotely good, look for a Steelers Dolphins AFC championship game...remember you heard it here first, then again my vicodin has kicked in..I read the bottle wrong 1 every 4-6 hours not 6 every 1-4 hours..needless to say there will be no pouring hot plastic tonight

So that is my AFC prediction, I'll post my NFC prediction soon

who is everyone else picking?

Re: Football Pool vent area!

Well your right Zbass. The Giants had that hiccup you were talking about and the Cowboys not only need a coach but a quarterback for the next 3 games. The Pats quarterback isn't impressing me at all. Last game he looked ok but this week against the Chargers was horrible! Lets see what this week has to bring

Re: Football Pool vent area!

Zbass,
Your Cardinals did great! They flat outplayed us. I thought we were going to pull another comeback out of you know where, but you guys deserve that win all the way. And I dont say that about my Cowboys very often. I do agree with OneSock though, if Pittsburg can get healthy and pull through this schedule, they just may be the team to beat this year. I have more faith in them right now than I do my own favorite team.
