Re: Wanted: Hilts bullet nose mold

I did see them on that site, but I was looking for used to save $$. I have one, but I went to use it the other day, and the one part of the hinge is broken. (the casting) Have no idea what did that. I did use it because I had to fill an order, but the mold does not close all the way and I spent forever trimming flashing off.
I'll probably end up buying new, I check molds on e-bay a lot and haven seen one for a long time.

Bob,
You might want to try a C-clamp or something like it to hold the halves together while you pour. Will take a little longer, but might eliminate the flash.

Re: Wanted: Hilts bullet nose mold

Bob,
Is this a case were a little J & B Weld would work to repair the casting? I know I've had some good luck using it in the past. If you've already concluded that its broken, trying J & B Weld won't make it any more broke. See what you think, it could be a good cheap fix for an expensive mold. Good luck.
