Thank you for your input Sinbad...it is much appreciated
I didnt intend to start a thread and then abandon it but ive been pretty busy the past few months.
Before i posted about flyingcart.com i had looked into two other ecommerce options and they were:
(1) Ebay Pro-Stores Business Plan at $29.95 per month.
(2) Homestead Enhanced Plan at $24.99 per month.
I contacted Ebay Pro-Stores and Homestead sales reps via telephone and aquired the following information concerning their ecommerce packages. Homestead purchases their ecommerce package solutions directly from Ebay Pro-Stores and redistributes them under the Homestead Store Front name. The set up costs for both stores are free and the first month subscription fee for both stores are waved.
My main concern was i would subscribe for one of the two and it would take too much time to get the store built and the monthly subscription billing would begin well before the store was ready to be available to the general public.
The Homestead sales rep (she was definitely one of the nicest people ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with on the phone) told me she would pull some extra strings in order to help me out. She stated the first month subscription fee could be waved and then the second month subscription fee could also be waved. But this request could only be arranged under the condition the account was locked from being viewed by the public for the first and second month. That on the first day of the third month the store front would be viewable to the general public and on that day my monthly subscription fees of $24.99 would go into effect.
I called the Ebay Pro-Stores sales reps and they were not willing to offer the two month non-payment extension the Homestead sales lady offered.
About the Flying Cart Store Fronts.
(1) Flying Cart Standard Version at $15.00 per month.
Yes, i knew the free version only allowed for five products with three sales transactions per month. The reason i mentioned Flying Cart was due to the fact it is free to use up to a certain point. Some of us have full time jobs and may not have the luxury of sitting down in front of a computer for six hours a day five days a week. What if we signed up for a ecommerce store front and ended up being charged a monthly subscription fee but yet we did not have time to complete our stores.
A person could sign up for Flying Cart and have plenty of time to get familiar with changing and modifying the design scheme and not have to worry about meeting a deadline before paying the first months subscription fee.
Then what about the possibility of the three sales transactions per month being made during the first week of the month. If you consider those three sales could safely be repeated for the next three weeks that could equal twelve sales for the first month. That might would justify purchasing the Flying Cart Standard Version at $15.00 per month.
