On your homepage, I would make this bigger: "We make custom jigs just for you. Go to our Jig Shop to create your own custom jigs. " It gets lost on the page. I would recommend resizing some of the images on your homepage. Your jigs (products) should be the largest image and everything else should be smaller IMO.
Jarod, feel free to email me if you have any questions or need any help. I can help you figure out a solution regarding your inability to use ftp.
Great Advice, what do you guys think about me simplifying the www.jarodjigs.com, and using the paypal buttons. I think once i upload what ive done you will like it.
It takes out the shopping cart portion of shop.jarodjigs.com and it makes it easier to navigate between products and color chart, basically, you can order a jig in 3 clicks if you wanted to.
I will work on the front too, thanks all for the great help.
Now just my ftp problem, but im working on that too, -
For right now, i need an option that will let me use their program like ebay and godaddy because im in Iraq and i cant FTP or upload anything...... limiting my capabilities a lot.
Just wanted to say thanks for the post - and share some of my experiences.
Any constructive critism welcome _ YOU wont hurt my feelings.
Are you trying to FTP from NIPRNet or a MWR network? All DOIM networks have certain things blocked from the Army TLA but you can get a exception to policy? Just remember the Army motto "where there is a will, there is a waiver!". Not sure what kind of unit you are in but your Signal officer/S-6/G-6/IAO/IAM would know about this.
Yes, Ive talked with my S6, he said he cant help me out, DOIM here is well.................... DOIM so here i am.
MWR computers dont have microsoft publisher, let alone dreamweaver, so im stuck. I'll continue to work with S6 but they are as restricted as anyone else. If i was up near Baghdad or VBC i would have more people to talk to, but where im at there's not a lot of help. Maybe i can get MNC-I to grant me a waiver big maybe.

Thanks for the reply.
The security features are inherited from the TNOSC to the DOIM. Usually only the DOIM, IAM or a designated rep can request to change settings but it is done all the time. My job is computer security and accrediation for the US Army so I deal with this kind of stuff on a daily basis. I would help you but my powers are limited to the CONUS. GEN Petraeus has a waiver so they can watch and upload to youtube.

DOIM will not let you use FTP for sites that is not a .gov or .mil. You can do it but expect a visit from the local ACERT. Someone I worked with got a slap on the hand for uploading files from his Army computer to his personal website. You can talk with your IAM but I seriously doubt they will let you FTP files to a personal website. One other way you could get around it, look for a web host or shopping cart that will let you upload files through the software instead of requiring you to use FTP. But if you are in Iraq, the worst they could do is send you home....
