I need a logo!!!!
I know there are some guys here who are outstanding when it comes to using such programs as Illustrator and more.
I need a logo made up that is just text. No graphics or anything fancy.
I am thinking block letters with maybe a shadow or something.
If this seems like a simple thing to do please let me know what you would charge.
I have spent or should I say wasted three days trying to make one with no success.

If you have MS Office, PowerPoint has a feature called WordArt that is great for just that kind of a lettering...

He shouldn't use that logo Bruce; there already is a "ghost baits".
I also understand that you are just presenting an example. I just didn't want Ghost to get the wrong idea. I think he joined after Ghostbaits left.

Vman - Thanks. I've been playing with some form of MS Office or another for about 20 20 years now.
Nova - I wasn't aware that there was another Ghost Baits; but to keep from getting into trouble with the owner I changed it. I was, in fact, only demonstrating what could be done in about 2 minutes (actually, more like 20 seconds) and wasn't even going to charge my usual $50.00 per hour fee with an 8 hour minimum (okay - that was a joke).

Okay, not wanting to be attacked by lawyers, any mention of any ghost have been removed. I wasn't trying to get into any trouble. So, my sample shown above is a Spike-A-Pike original... and because of all the extreme mental stress, I have had to raise my fees to $100.00 per hour with a 160 hour minimum... I'm not so cheap any more. LoL

No reference to any GHOST will be on my logo..... I will play with the word art feature and see what I can come up with.....thanks for the tip.
I am pretty sure Jim was still around when I joined.......not sure why he left....actually didn't even realize he was gone.

I am a graphic designer and web developer. Here are some samples of logos I've done. I am currently working for several TU members on different projects.
Try the word art feature that Spike-A-Pike recommended and see what you come up with. If you decide you want something more professional looking send me a pm.
FYI, I don't think word art will let you export your text design as vector (scalable) artwork which is necessary for many printing applications. It depends what you want the logo for (website, business cards, t-shirts, boat wrap, etc.) |
