Copper, Silver, Gold Vein Powder Paint

I picked up some Eastwood Copper and Silver Vein powder paint the other day and I put it on some jigs last night. Problem is they did not come out the way I had expected. Here is the link to how I think they should come out Eastwood Co. - Hotcoat Powder Copper Vein 8 oz

The paint when put on the jigs had a more spotted look to it instead of the vein look I was hoping for. I am wondering if there is some special technique to get the veins to come out.

The method I used was to heat the jigs in the toaster, dip in fluid bed, run under heat gun to smooth out, then bake in over for 20-30 minutes. I also tried a black base coat and got the same results.

Maltrout,
Could be that the jig is too small to get the desired effect. Try coating something bigger like a slab spoon or a large Colorado blade. Just a thought.

The paint doesnt look anything like the picture on the website when painted on a jig at least the way I did it, lol. Basseducer may be right that the jig is too small to see the desired effect. Also you can get it cheaper from Columbia Coatings.

maltrout,
Thank you. I do 1 & 11/2oz Sparkie jigs. Maybe, they are big enough. I also planning to try another powder from Columbia:ILLUSION AMETHYST
