Best jigheads are the ones I make because nothing beats catching a fish on a bait (or rod) made by oneself.
Also, I put allot of time into my jigheads - quality hooks, clip and file the spruce (is that the name?), paint, sometimes multiple colors, eyes, sharp hooks.

Man that is really a big question as there is a jig for just about every situation and personal taste. I look forward to some of the answers.
Oh , my choice ? ... depends on what I am fishing for , where and when ... about as straight an answer as I can give on this subject. Course the ones I make are the ones I prefer =:^) ..

For bass in rocks weeds and stick ups I tend to like something with a hook big enough to hide the point of the hook to avoid snags. If I'm fishing a tube, then a weedless single wire SS strand works well fishing around rocks.

mine, i dont make many so theyre all custom and hand crafted. Mustad hooks, Stan Sloan powder paint, Fluid bed painted, and made with a custom skirt.

I'll tell you my favorite style is a mushroom jig head for rocks and weeds. Actually like the gopher tackle big jon in about 1/16 for chunk rock, and 1/4 for shale style rock.
Big jon works well in weeds as well. I fish that style of head open hook, and rarely get hung up. Lighter head for chunk rip rap rock.
