Bigger head less weight and all weight is forward leaving the hook tipped up for a strike. A reg. football head sits flat and has no way to make the hook stand up.
Do-it and Hilts both offer excellent molds that leave the hook tipped up for a strike. The head profiles differ somewhat but serve the same purpose.
