Jig Rattles

What are you guys using for rattles on Jigs? I have been using the ones that attach on the skirt band but I dont really like them because they tend to fall off when a fish jumps and they are too expensive. I like the little glass worm rattles but havent found a way to make them stay glued to the hook shank well enough to stay on.

Re: Jig Rattles

I use a drop of super glue on the skirt rattles and am happy.

Heat shrink will keep them on.

Re: Jig Rattles

I stoped using glass rattles because I'm into c&r and the glass breaks allot when the fish bite and goes down their gullet.

I either get plastic ones or make them from drinking straws. Cut the straw into 1" pieces, seal one end, add beads, lead shot, etc. seal other on the diagonal. (I have a tutorial someplace - as does Mac). For jigs I leave a tongue on one end, punch a small hole in the tongue and feed it on the jig or simply superglue and tie it on the shaft of the hook.
