flashbou

I tied a spinner with this stugg an it came out looking pretty good one problem though. Some of the flashbou got wrapped around the treble hook. Anyonr hsve any ideas why

Generally speaking, flashabou is usedin flytying and is usually tied in shorter pieces. If you're using it for spinnerbaits I imagine you're using longer pieces and this stuff is pretty limber so it's going to wrap and twist some. You might try tying in some other material like bucktail or some artificial fiber like fishhair or some other material first and then tie in your flashabou on the outside of that for flash effect. This is usually how I tie it in on big streamers and it works out pretty well. Just a thought, JIM

Hedron Inc. also makes a product called Holographic Fly Fiber. It is a bit heavier and stiffer than Flashabou and does not curl like Flashabou. You can call and request a catalog.
