I found this guy on ebay who is selling 25 silicone skirts(40 strands each).
the guy is askin a total of $6.25 not including tax. i was wondering if you guys think this is a good deal or should i just buy some more material and makem myself. im not good at math so i havent took the time to see how much I have in one of my skirts compareed to these.
Here are some pictures of the colors he was going to sell me.
Right now you're looking at 25 cents a skirt but it depends on how much he's going to charge you for shipping and handling. That little bit of plastic shouldn't cost more than $2 to mail, but I'd wager he's charging more.
Just take your cost + ship/handling added together then divide by 25 and that's how much your skirts each will be.
Nice color selection if that's what your looking for.
the shipping is going to be $1.75 and i already added that into the price of the skirts.(sorry forgot to mention that earlier.) i kind of figured that i would have about 56 cents into one of my skirts so i think ima buy his for a while until i can find a better price...unless anyone knows of a really good website i can get skirt material cheap?
A 40 strand skirt consist of 2 skirt tabs which is how they are sold if you're using silicone. I make my jigs with a 60 strand skirt and spinnerbaits over 1/4oz with a 50 strand skirt. The deal you are getting on those skirts aren't bad but did you pick those or are they what the seller is offering?
I did a few quick calculations - that's about a nickle a skirt high.
Did that guy offer to send you a few samples just to make sure they'd work okay for your intended use? Did you enjoy a nice long chat to discuss the specific species you plan to use them for? Are you sure those are going to be long enough? Are they too long?
Fatman - you got it right. I've got notice that my custom order will be shipped Tuesday. Thanks again Charles!

I am a real supporter of other TU Members. Charles at Fishing Skirts.com (aka: Skirts Unlimited) is just such a member. The price listed is $0.20 each and just look at how many different colors he carries.
