- Can I use smaller wire (eg 0,035") with the D Unit ? Yes, you can work with wire as small as .030 with the D head unit.
- Can I use the C Unit for 0,045" wire ? No, not really. The face of the head would be too small to allow the wire to pass through.
- Max length of a spinner I can do ? Max length - varies. I bend a musky/pike buzz bait with a shaft length 5.25"; add a split ring & 5/0 treble for Max Length of 7.5"
- Any other source for the components then Stamina ? http://www.tacklemaker.com/dealers.html for Boggs dealers, the TU Suppler Directory has several others.
Best regards from Germany

Roland,
I had had the pleasure of teaching a TU newbie how to bend in-line spinners. After a couple hours of just getting used to the tacklemaker, she was making nearly perfect lures. After 2 days (about 6 hours total time), she strings together a bait and finishes it in about 5 to 7 minutes. I think she wants to add powder painting to further customize her lures.
The Boggs dealer list showed a European (Netherlands, I think) vendor that might be easier to do business with.

Just going back thru some of the old wire stuff. This thread brought it to mind.
The first one is a simple wire twister from "Finnysports" back in 1960 ... The lure that I caught the first fish on one that I had made is the next picture and I sold a "pile" of them .. the one in the picture is the only one I have left and it was a reject .. the guy putting the spider together "goofed" .. the rubber legs have come off with age did not show up well but the blade is nickel.
The Last Picture is a wire working device that Herters made #700 .. I would guess that the Boggs is of the same patent.
