Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, had to go do some of that fishing stuff. Cadman is right I got my tape from him, some type of high temp Teflon. Looks the same stuff I put on the heating element of my heat sealer. Yes it is tedious, but the eyes come out clean without the need to do anything further. To me it’s a wash, either tape the eye or clean it out before you cure. Also the eye on the smaller jigs usually sticks out further and is easier to tape. One roll goes a long way. For the screw-loc, a small piece of foil may conform better to the shape of the wire than tape.

This might sound wird but I use modeling clay. squish it around the screw lock and the eye if you want, paint, then blow it of and out with a compressor at 90 pounds. Yes I find that crap all over the shop.
