Could also be a Mustad 38109. Its a great hook and alot less than a Gamakatsu. MAV

I have never seen them for sale just hooks? Maybe some of the others on here may have a source? I do know they will not fit in any Do-It molds.

Re: Football head hook

It's a Gammy hook. It's a special order hook. You can't get them unless you intend to order 100,000. Only one place I know of gets them and he sells them to everyone else for the public to buy. I sell those heads as well but mine are using the new VMC hook. It's a little stronger hook. There is a national shortage right now on those gammy hooks. So it could be some time before we see those heads again with those hooks.

Re: Football head hook

Thanks. What model VMC do you like? Everyone is telling me they want a finer wire hook that penetrates at the end of a long cast. They tell me they lose a lot of fish with many of the models out there now. The 38109 may be the best I can find that is readily available.

Re: Football head hook

The Mustad 38108 is a little finer wire and may be good for what you want. Same hook as the 38109 just finer wire. In my opinion this is a better hook than the Gammi especially considering the problem getting the Gammi's.

Re: Football head hook

The Mustad 38109 is the light wire version, the 38108 the heavy wire.
