Which Heat Gun???

I've always used a torch to heat my jigs, I'm thinking about trying a heat gun to heat them up! Which is the best heat gun to use???

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices this is the Heat gun I use it is 19.99 at harbor freight 1500 watt dual temp. I switched to it about a year ago after someone one here was talking about it and it has been great. The back of it is flat so it stands up on my bench and make it real easy work with. The Chicago (Harobur Freight) 19.99 is the one I have been using as well.

I personally use a Wagner (Model HT 3500). For my personal application, and the multi-colors I put on this has worked very well for me. If you are going to get into multi-colors, then I would suggest a dual heat gun, as you need the lower heat to put on more than 2-6 colors. This is just MHO. I have a pic of it in my tutorial. If you want to see it PM me your e-mail. This heat gun is a little extravagant, but it has suited me well so far, and so far no complaints, as I've gone through several brands, that aren't worth anything even if I got them free. Just out of curiosity, why are you getting away from a torch. I know quite a few guys here that do some beautiful powder painting with a torch.

Very happy with my Milwaukee 8988-20. Digital temp. Highly adjustable. Stands on end well.

I saw a milwaukee heat gun at home depot for under 20 bucks. Can a lighter really be used to heat jigs?

I got to say thanks to everyone here at TU, I just painted a batch of jigs using my new Milwaukee Heat gun!! This is the ticket, I've used a torch for about 3 years and what a difference!!!

I can only speak in regards to powder painting with a heat gun, and it has always worked for me. Now that you've gotten this far, you can start doing multi-colors on a lower setting...........Good Luck, and we are all here to help each other out, so don't be afraid to ask. A lot of good guys here are willing to help out, and give advice. It's up to you and everyone else to take the bull by the horns and run with it

If you want my honest opinion. No, unless you want a crappy job. Sorry for this reply to those that use a lighter.
