feathers on jigs

Duck season is here & I was looking over some of the feathers on ducks I'd bagged, there are some nice small white feather on the underside of the wings. My question is has anybody used duck feathers on their jigs?? I thought the size of the feathers were right for crappie sized baits.

I don't know of any feathers, or parts of feathers you can't use. Give it a try, or you can send them to me lol.

Re: feathers on jigs

The fly tying guys would be the ones that go through some feathers. I would think there has to a reference on feathers and the patterns they are used to tie on the web... I know there are books.

Re: feathers on jigs

I'll try any type of feather on a jig. It's not like I don't have plenty to try with. If you look at the punisher jig site at their jigs flank feathers from ducks are used along with craft hair for Float and flys and you can make them just as easy yourself.
