That ACME Pulse cod looks to be a much higher quality bait than the old Whopper Stopper "throbber " but there is 30 years between them though .

The bass pro was Don Iovino.

Yup I have a pack on hand. 7" Power Worms. The worms I have seem to be a single color, Yet depending on what angle or lighting you see them in it may have a red highlight, then a green. While the bait remains clear with red and green flake. Not sure how old the oxblood pigment I have is. It's at least 6 years old. Definitely not 20. I bought it specifically to duplicate the camo color from the recipe page. And to make some oxblood colored worms from an old style worm that was pretty awesome at catching fish. The oxblood was perfect for that. Definitely not the Camo color I'm trying to make. That pic is a laminate. Maybe Berkley changed their recipe? Got the baits in hand. Just can't seem to get it to where I want. It's like 2 different highlight colors in one bait. I may try to take a photo of the actual bait but I doubt a photo will show the proper coloring.

Yes I am certain that would yield in some interesting search results on Ebay Could this be why the lure was never successful ? " Hey buddy what are you catching them on? " LOL

Jigmeister, Thank you for your help!..I’m a little nervous about searching “VIBRATING THROBBER”..Lol..Nathan

Guys I looking to buy a round jig head mold 1/8 oz (no eyes) with grub keeper. Wanting a 1/0 hook (not 570/575) will be used for bass fishing. I have looked everywhere for this style of mold. If I can't find one who can build me 1. Thanks

Hey Mark, glad to see you are still around. It has been about a decade. I had to shut down the company and stop fishing due to medical problems but I am slowly getting back into it. This coating is something I would not use because I use PVC. This community is crafty so who knows what someone might want to do with it.

OK Nathan I knew I wasn't crazy I looked around some more found some for sale on Ebay. It is a popper type bait that came in several colors called a "Vibrating Throbber" and was made by whopper stopper lure co. I had a clear one years ago and the internal spring wire and weight were clearly visible inside .

Here is a picture of their Camo in a different bait. Definitely a laminate. Like I had said, putting your hands on them will give you a much better idea of the colour and will make matching it far easier.

Your biggest problem (and the problem most are going to have working with that old cookbook) is the recipes are so old the pigments used in them are no longer available or have changed. That Berkley Camo colour was cooked up by Del @ DelMart 21 years ago using the pigments that haven't been available for a long time. Would probably be best to grab a pack and see if you can match a sample you have in hand using pigments that are readily available.

Nathan, Didn't we play around with this stuff to use as a top coat years ago? It rings a bell....

I like the pliability of 24-26 ga myself.
-
He doesn't use any salt in any of his baits, but I thought he'd be spending just as much (if not more) on softener. That's why he's decided to go the sample route.
-
In the crafting world they are using it for casting and coating.
-
I use 24, and lay the 1" twisted tag end back along the hook to act as a bait keeper.

Nope. Clear with small red and medium black. Somewhat cloudy probably from salt. When wet it takes on a pink cast. When it first came out we called it shrimp. Camo is definitely not a laminate at least in power worms. It is almost a transparent root beer? With green highlight? It changes color depending on how you look at it. The saltwater big stuff is definitely a laminate. Who knows maybe Berkeley changed the recipe and it’s now a laminate? The problem with the o blood is it’s not transparent at all so lightening it won’t help. It will just look like lighter mud. Man!I wish I could remember what bass pro made the lures I used made in o blood.
