  2. I've been using BSI 30 minute slow cure for about 4 years now. This is what I do and works at least 99% of the time. First off, I epoxy inside. I have a shot glass with DA in it sitting right there for me.I don't use the container it comes in because after a while dipping the brush in it contaminates it. I warm up the bottles with a heat gun so it flows out of the bottle nicely. I'm dying if I'm lying but I've said it before and I'll say it again. I squeeze into a plastic cup used for measuring medicine a 5 count of each part. Seriously I count to 5...I mix the crap out of it it with a cordless drill and a piece of wire bent at 90 degrees for about 15 seconds. I dip my entire Great Planes epoxy brush into the shot glass with the DA and and stir it a little with the mixed epoxy This temporary thins it and disperses ALL bubbles. I do my first of 2 baits like this. I apply it the same way every time and load the brush up so the epoxy "flows" onto the bait as opposed to pulling it. As it thickens, any missed spots can be gone over. i also spray my baits with something to cover any oils or contamination that might be on the bait. The second bait, i don't us the DA just the epoxy the way it is. If i rush I can do 3 baits but i am happy with 2. Out goes the .04 cent cup and the .15 brush. I rather spend the money than trying to pick out hairs or miss some and then realize they are now part of the bait. I do 10 baits in 30 minutes, 20 in an hour taking my time. After an hour on the rack, I put a couple of indoor 65 watt flood lights for a few hours. Not really for the heat but for the humidity. BSI is nothing like e-tex and is very forgiving as far as mixing and measuring. I only had issues when I was working out doors and it was either cold or high humidity. I do about 40 baits a week. When doing lipless baits or others with sharp edges, I epoxy these as the second of the two baits because the epoxy starts to thicken and does not pull away. I spend a little more on these brushes but it only takes 2 bad epoxy jobs negate any savings using other supplies plus i would have to repaint and re finish said baits. Like I said this is what works for me and never have any baits coming back.

  3. I posted pictures of some of the baits that I make wobble. I also make all my 2 and 3 piece fast sink swimbaits wobble but I am not able to get the 4 piece swimbaits to wobble. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/media/gallery/category_8/gallery_16753_8_191927.jpg http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/media/gallery/category_8/gallery_16753_8_59362.jpg (the 3 piece baits wobble the 4 piece do not) http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/media/gallery/category_8/gallery_16753_8_341362.jpg http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/media/gallery/category_8/gallery_16753_8_171229.jpg http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/media/gallery/category_8/gallery_16753_8_398982.jpg http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/media/gallery/category_8/gallery_16753_8_353825.jpg

  4. On the 25th I had double hernia surgery and was recovering well ..This last Tuesday I began losing feeling in my feet and by Wednesday morning I had lost all feeling and use of my legs from the waist down. They sent me to a hospital that specializes in neurological disorders...and I stumped them too!!..after some really scary guesses as to what this might be they believe my first surgery caused my spinal cord to swell which caused the loss of the use of my lower extremities...I'm slowly getting tingling sensation back into my legs and movement is improving..Just not much coordination yet..everything is miss firing as it wakes up...it will be a few weeks of in house rehab. Teaching me to walk again..Thank you for the positive thoughts and prayers..My wife and I sure appreciate them..Nathan

  5. Thanks a bunch , my friends , the only bad thing is , that in particular lure fishing is just too slow these days , at least in that gravel pit my wife likes to fish these days ,.......... yesterday she had outfished me 9:0 using catching Brown Trout on live baits like wiggler worms , nightcrawlers and maggots versus my successless lures . She's even lost a big fish that tended to drag her into the water , must have been one of the huge grass carp said to be there, I reckon , ......so I guess , that I would skip my lures and sit down underneath my fishing umbrella(wet fall weather has finally commenced around here)and do some float watching as well . Fishing and the outdoors mean everything for us ,....makes us to forget about our troubles and health issues at least for a while . Thanks a lot again for your compassionate words , ........I know , that may others share or did share the problems of having to take care of senior family members , .....it's really something , that someone cannot imagine how it would be like , if one does not go through such as well . @ scrubs I hope , that everything went along fine with that change of location , also that you're going to settle well in your new environment , .....I never experienced having to leave my hometown , always had everything(School and afterwards Job) in the very close vicinity . Greetings , Dieter

  6. Bob, I have been buying all of my lead from Roto-Metals. Reason being, is that it is consistent as far as quality, clean and shipping is free. I do get free lead from a dentist, but not enough for what I need. Roto-Metals price is about $2.00 give or take per pound. I have never seen it at $1.50 or even $1.75/pound. I have also bought some lead from a guy in Ohio, and then he wanted more that I was paying at Roto-Metals. So back to Roto-Metals it is for me.

  7. this crank bait I built just to see If I could lol, not even sure if it would float. the dark back is made with black walnut, the light belly is made with maple and the perch like stripes are inlayed cherry wood. it took me 8 hours straight for all the carving and wood construction . it is through wire also which took some time with the hardwood. my risk was with great reward as it floats and has the greatest hunting action I have ever seen (more life like than a rapala scatter rap)
