  1. Silicone molds will not give you the small detail you are looking for. The small legs out the side can only be done with two piece cnc molds.

  2. I have started receiving complaints from TU members about business owners, tackle supply retailers, lure parts companies and others spending time here in the forums with a single motive; selling TU members their goods or services. This message serves as notice to everyone that this will STOP here and now! TU is not a venue for ANYONE to spend time hanging out here, trying to sell their products to people. It is a place where people come to learn from other lure makers. Any company who has people here and is actively soliciting TU members, be forewarned that your accounts are in danger of being permanently banned! I don't take this lightly and you shouldn't either! So if you happen to be one of those people who has been becoming more active here for the sole purpose of trying to reel in new customers, put an end to it now. If you want to share your knowledge with others without mentioning your company and without offering to "help" them with their problem by offering to sell them something, then feel free to continue to to participate here. I will be keeping a close eye on this and TU members will also be watching and if they see anything going on that is outside of these guidelines, it will be passed along to me. Once again, accounts of guilty parties will be permanently banned if this continues after today!

  3. The red bottle is the hardener and it normally has a light amber hue. As it ages on the shelf, it will get darker. When mixed with the resin, the amber will be less conspicuous and applied in a thin coating on a lure, it virtually disappears. But yeah, epoxy almost always has a slight amber hue to it.

  5. Interesting Blades....never thought too much about that but it does pool on the end of a hanging lure. On baits with sensitive weighting or balance it would cause a problem.....

  6. What BBK said....thin paint way down and go slow. Hand spaying dots can be very frustrating. I only do them if painting walleye lures and I don’t paint many anymore. Stencils work just fine!

  7. One coat / issues I had were with Rogues- Pointer Minnows-Staysees and a few Crankbaits. Fritts asked me to never put it on any of his lures again. Customers noticed it and so did I. Probably from hanging them and not turning them as hanging baits from the nose allows more clear to settle to the rear of the bait even with a drip wire regardless how thin it is. Not saying it is an issue with all lures. No doubt it cures really hard . Works for others not for me.

  8. I do a lot of freehand dots, and I screw up some here and there too. Thin your paint WAY down and spray at a low psi (8-10 or whatever the lowest your brush can do with that paint). Barely let any paint out and do a circular motion with the brush. You can always heat set and go back over the spot again if you are confident on aiming the brush, that's the hardest part to be honest. If you try to spray too much paint you'll get a run, if you try to spray at too high of PSI you'll get it blown all over the place. As for the large spatter, you may have too big of a tip or letting too much paint out, with what shading you are trying to do (bright over light and just a shade not a stripe or heavy layer) I would be using a 0.2 needle.

  9. I like that centipede mold that might just be my best option so far. Thanks walking dead! I thought about this as an option but was hoping to find something more similar to the sandworm with all the legs on the sides. Thanks mark for the idea. I appreciate it

  10. I have made a lot of that style bait. I don’t bag them in bait bags to prevent the thin tails from taking a “set”. For storage I use the cheap ziploc hard plastic containers and stack my baits in those. Works for me and my fishing but prolly not good for retail. https://www.target.com/p/ziploc-174-small-rectangle-containers-5ct/-/A-16397503?ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google&fndsrc=tmnv&DFA=1&CPNG=PLA_0060H00000moYMAQA2-SCJ-2019-Ziploc-1H+Search-Flight&adgroup=PLA_Ziploc&LID=700000001393753pgs&network=g&device=t&location=9025745&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItsaGn_y04AIVCBxpCh2HnAR0EAQYEyABEgKhfvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
