  1. I wonder if JB Weld would hold? Just thinking out loud here. Some of my Texas rig hooks used for big worms I double a piece of big mono line and wrap much like tying a crappie jig.

  2. Lots of hooks will work if modified like this. A magnetic strip will help hold the hooks.

  3. It would have to be modified like I did mine.

  4. I think the tail is too long and the flat nose needs to be flat. Put the line tie at the very back of that flat nose. I've build more than a few floating lipless baits and the ballast is forward in the body so it sits nose down at rest.

  5. I do my sealer coat over the foil then paint and clear coat. My foil baits have held up for yrs.

  6. They spin because there isn't enough weight to counteract the inertia of the blade. You may try using a heavier spinner body or and offset-weight spinner body that's crimped to the thruwire. There was a spinner made a while back that had a body similar to a rooster tail, but the wire went through it at a slight angle resulting in a 'bottom weighted' style spinner.

  7. Maybe you could try to add transglutaminase. It is an enzyme that binds proteins. It is available from those molecular cooking places. Also known as "meat glue"

  8. A quick coat of clear fingernail polish will take care of the sticky problem. Fly tiers do this frequently..Nathan
