  1. It's DNS propagation from the server move. The TU domain is still settling into its new home. The problem should clear up by the weekend. I've replaced the files on the old server to direct this direction. I'll place a green announcement on the top of this site so you know you're in the right place. CTRL + F5 helps in some browsers, CTRL + Refresh button in others helps clear your PC's cache.
  2. The good news is TU has the images stored. I'm looking into an webapp for us to use that will let you go thru the images and recover copies you lost on your PC. I know you're not the 1st. to have the same problem, I know Ben had a similar issue.... My drive fried about a year ago and lost alot of personal lure pics that wasnt posted. The bad news is that goin forward we may need to address how or how long we store uploads here. TU holds @ 180gb of images in the gallery alone, not including the forum attachments. Some images are "broken" in the gallery, but they're still salvageable. I just need to find a way to efficiently pick your photos out of a list of a few thousand. Hope that makes sense, if you have advice or ideas on how to improve the gallery, let me know. All the best.
  3. I'll keep it short.... new server is ready, doing a final sync today/tonight.
  4. I've toggled access back and forth to see if tapatalk has anything to do with reports of popups and redirects on our site..... sadly, it seems to be at fault, so we'll be removing tapatalk until a developer can assure us this won't be happening again.
  5. The popup/redirects are coming from tapatalk.... tapatalk is a phone/tablet app I personally use and enjoy, however due to these issues, it's being removed from the site. I have secured a faster server and everything is being moved as we speak..... Rest assured this will not be a smooth migration and will more likely get worse before it gets better, but it will get better. I apologize for all the latency, Late winter early spring is our busy time of year and a terrible time to do this, but it is what it is. Thanks for the kindly worded criticism, as I'm sure many of you would like to wring my neck. Just know I'm doing the best with what I have. Regards, Jerry
  6. You've done nothing wrong, and your prior opinion is welcome, what you're seeing has been part of our moderation system for awhile, for some reason the developers decided to make it visible. Just to be clear, only yourself (and our mods) can see any issued "warning points" yours should read zero. If you look at another persons profile, you will not see theirs & vice versa. That justifiably results into users thinking they've been somehow reprimanded & I agree, it's confusing. IMO It should only be shown if a warning has been issued, and then (as it is now) only visible to the account holder & staff. Thank you for frequenting the site, we're surely not looking to run anyone off, but I agree that warning bar being visible (even if only by you) when no warnings are issued is not wise logic.
  7. Not lost, just misplaced, worst case I'll get copies to you, you can upload them again if I cant get em converted beforehand.
  8. It's @ 15 min to edit/delete posts. There's an array of reasons why we chose to do this & it's been our policy for a long time. Especially in the classifieds, where unscrupulous sellers might alter product descriptions, prices or other terms after an agreed sale. The decision was made after a incidents involving members deleting posts, comments and attachments from hundreds of topics, essentially rendering the topics incoherent. There's more, but I hope that helps convey the point as to why. We're expecting the ability (soon) to be able to keep a backup log of all edits/deletions of content & being able to restore them if deemed necessary. Once that's available we would consider lifting the timelimits. Hope that helps, Jerry PS, if you need a post edited or removed after the cutoff, contact a moderator & they can assist.
  9. I'ts a fail-safe in the event the server becomes overloaded, it denies access until the traffic spike subsides. I'm keeping logs on who/what is causing the spikes & permanently denying access to progressively fix this as time goes by. The alternative of allowing access has proven in the past to crash the database server. As for the gallery, its what shipped with the gallery software, I'm sure if I fiddled with it to suit personal tastes would cause more harm than good. Until HTML 5 is fully supported by all browsers I'm doing as little tinkering as possible. We currently have the largest server we can currently afford, so my apologies for the temporary downtime, I'm confident I can selectively allocate valid traffic & weed out spam-bots, undesired search spiders & web scrapers etc over time. Regards
  10. No, Thank you guys.... The redirect never happened to me, so if you still experience it, be sure to let me know. I know the header is still wonky, I'll iron that out after work. Thanks again.
  11. Think I've nailed down the problem, if you continue to have problems, plz let me know. Thank you for your help & patience.
  12. wow ok, direct links are much appreciated. thanks
  13. we have no external redirects on TU, maybe accidentally clicking an ad? what's the entry url you are landing here from? eg; tackleunderground.com/community/index.php tackleunderground.com/ etc. happy to look into it for ya.
  14. TU is getting pounded by spambots atm. Pretty smart, given they expect staff to be out for the holidays. over 1200 registrations blocked today alone and theyre still trying, all different IP's Our spam monitoring service is working, as none have gotten thru, but it is taking up alot of resources to do so. I'm watching the server and making adjustments as necessary, you may see sporadic downtime while I reboot services. sorry, but its about all I can do for now.

    Bobsmolds?

Bob has merged with BassTackle molds. His product is available through their site
  17. To those of you asking to have it hosted here: The forum allows for .pdf and .doc attachments.... simply upload to this topic or the earlier existing cookbook topic. There is a filesize restriction of a few MB per upload but let me know who is compiling the file and I'll increase their quota.
  18. I think this thread was the 2nd revision, there was a 3rd. I cant find the thread, but there's a video of it working....
  19. The "poor mans patent" (mailing docs to yourself) isn't worth your time, most here agree that it's more of an urban legend than a binding document. The best remedy without patents/trademarks is being able to meet demand. Most knockoffs come from original products that are either overpriced or in demand.......... price it fair and meet demand.
  20. Do some research on a "sanding table" or a downdraft collector. should suit your problem. If you make one, post pics
  21. Ok, I'll be swapping out the skin/theme to something more familiar for you. Thank you for the feedback.
  22. Gallery issue has been addressed, thanks for letting me know. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/23009-its-still-slooooow/#entry185709 honestly, this time I did hire a pro, http://www.ipbforumskins.com/premade_ipb3.php Text colors and font styles can easily be altered, IMO I like it, but agree the text might need improvement. I rely on you guys for direction & appreciate the feedback, positive or negative. Our stats are showing an increase in tablet and mobile users, (I use mine alot in the shop), and this layout was intended to improve overall ease of navigation across devices. Let me know......If everyone hates it, I'll gladly look into another skin or try & make the old one work with this release. Thanks again.
  23. Thank you, it was a sporadic issue, as there have been new images added today. anyway I've made some changes, let me know if it continues.
  24. An update was completed today, this update is an effort to improve bugs and issues discussed prior and to address sporadic issues with user logins and lost password requests. Layout was also updated to improve overall navigation and accessibility for tablet users. We are anticipating an improved mobile skin for those who visit on a mobile device so stay tuned for that. As usual, I expect the update to come with yea's, boos, and other sorted feedback. All is welcomed, thank you for your patience during the update. Jerry "redg8r"
