  1. Stupid....is something I won't call you You should only have to add the softener one time.
  2. Time out raul :!: Let's set things straight before this post goes any further. User crkoester doesn't have a single reply to any of the 5 pages of that thread?! As for your previous post Nobody smeared anyone. User rockhopper is very knowledgeable in the patent industry. He was invited to this site by the site owner. His purpose is to shed some light on the myths and rumors that are continually spread around the internet about patent laws. Being an inventor who owns patent rights' date=' he realizes the severity of patent infringement. If you take the time to read [u']all [/u]of his posts, you will see he clearly states that if the items do not posess a patent then you are free to copy them. That is the American way! Please do not come here and make personal attacks to other individuals on the forum. Especially if you are not willing to defend your remarks with some sort of explanation. Nowhere have you taken the time to explain why you posted what you did. All you have done is accuse someone of saying something they didn't Since this whole discussion was based on morals, maybe you will offer an apology? If not, that explains why you attacked someone who displays good moral beliefs.
  3. You're right Pop, it's been covered a couple of different times. This thread seems to have the best advice. http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=439&highlight=oven+mold
  4. That's the right advice. I pour a few different zipper style baits. The plastic should automatically fill the ribs. Try heating the plastic a little bit more. It doesn't hurt to warm up the mold as well
  5. User Kenny Bell has a photo in the wire baits section of the photo gallery. Maybe you could send him a message?
  6. I think this is a no brainer  If there were no restrictions or 'wait periods', how could we prevent people from uploading 'adult' or other inapropriate material?

I also pour a batch without adding softener. But that's just to figure out how much softener I am going to add. I have never had a batch that I haven't added softener to. I like my worms soft I generally add a couple cups of softener to each 5 gallon bucket. How much depends on how soft the plastic is to start
  9. This has been the hottest topic in the soft plastics for about a month. Please use the search feature. It will answer your questions.
  10. Thanks Mickey. I'm not looking to pour them. I don't even like to fish them But when I do, I throw the biggest ones I can get my hands on. I did just get some from BPS last week. Cinnamon w/purple and a black/orange laminate. Pretty good colors that I can't find anywhere else
  11. I've made molds out of Sculpey brand clay. I've poured directly onto the clay without cooking or sealing it without any problems.

Welcome aboard! It's always good to have members interested in multiple fields
  15. This list doesn't apply to addiction...this is business There's nothing wrong with purchasing what you have listed. But if you don't plan on selling, you might not ever use all those supplies And the price is going to be way above what most hobbiest's would be willing to pay! These are expensive, and you can only do a single color out of each one. And hope you don't ruin 2 gallons at a time
  16. I think that's a matter of preference I add heat stabilizer and softener to my Calhoun plastic. How much of each will depend on how much you buy. It will also depend on weather or not you want to add it to the entire batch or just a certain amount at a time. We can cover that when you have your supplies in front of you You can get pyrex measuring cups at Wal-Mart. Pick up a couple of 2 cup for multi-colored pours and a 4 cup for single color pours. Just a side note: You'll find that after you have been pouring for a month or so, you'll naturally notice things getting easier and you'll say 'Why didn't I think of that before?' No matter how much instruction we give you here, you'll have to learn some of things from trial and error.
  17. Jim check out this link. I've looked at these guys for a while. I know several anglers that have purchased from them with ZERO complaints. http://www.tourneyshirts.com/catalog.htm
  18. Thanks basskat. The senko is the only plastic bait that I prefer to be round. I've tried a couple of different versions with one flat side and just didn't care for them as much? Maybe I'm just being picky
  19. Yup Try mixing before adding to your cup. Try it again and let us know how it goes!
  20. Another thing I forgot is a good sharp pair of small scissors to help trim the flash. There is a thread in the archives about the tools that we use to help trim our baits.
  21. Ahhh, thank you sir Scott is correct. Buy a good respirator with protection for 'Organic Vapor' (OV). Don't waste your time with the paper masks.
  22. There are 2 chemical changes while heating. 1st the plastic becomes clear and gel like. Next, it remains clear but it liquifies itself again. You should have the consistency of hot syrup. Be sure to stir continually! If you stir every 20-30 seconds, you'll see the changes in the plastic Also, make sure that your plastic is mixed really well before you heat :!:
  23. Where you buy from is up to you http://www.del-mart.com/ http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.htm http://www.fishingworld.com/M-F-Manufacturing/ If you're as serious as you say, and money isn't an issue, then buy a 55 gallon drum of plastic. If you don't have any way to move or store it, then buy in 5 gallon drums. Super soft formula. Buy your color in 2 oz bottles or bigger. Buy the flake in 2 oz or bigger. Molds of your choice Color: Red Blue Black Brown Purple Green Watermelon Motor Oil Pumpkin Signal Green Orange Yellow White Amber Brown Lime Green Electric Blue Black Grape Fluorescent Yellow Pearl White All hi lite colors Glitter: All sizes .008 .015 .035 .062 As many colors as possible. Make sure to get: Blue Green Red Silver Gold Holo Silver Purple Orange Black 1 quart each: Hardener Softener Heat stabilizer Worm oil Big bag of extra fine salt Scent of your choice. You can get it from one of the suppliers above, or use a scent that you already have confidence in that's on the market. Now, you're also going to need packaging supplies. Worm proof ziplock bags, preferrably 4 mil. Labels or card stock tops. Your choice. Heating: Microwave and pyrex or burner and pans. Your choice. Most are using microwave. Some use both. Metal stirring utensils. Butter knife is fine to start. What else guys : I'm not going into the shop to write down everything I have in there
  24. Anybody pouring big stick baits? 7" or 8" Maybe even a real fat 6"? The 7" senkos have the worst color selection of any plastic on the market!
