Welcome to TU........interesting first post LOL.
I used to copy baits a very old fashioned way with plaster of paris, but nowadays everyone is so copyright happy that I wouldn't want to copy ANYTHING! Even if you say it's just for personal use. I've read this many times and that personal use usually widens over time.
Good luck

It does, but I'm only mixing at most two cups of plastic, maybe four if I'm making laminates. I'm also using a lot of salt and glass beads. The stickbaits are nice and soft and wiggly and cast a mile. I make mine at around 12grams I fish a lot of deep water.
He doesn't use any salt in any of his baits, but I thought he'd be spending just as much (if not more) on softener. That's why he's decided to go the sample route.

That’s approximately 21oz per gal. Which seems like an awful lot. Keep in mind that’s is what I use for heavily salted plastic
Yeah that seems like a bunch. He's decided to buy quarts from other companies to see how they compare.

If your buddy is going to buy the 55 gal. drum from them he should just ask them what to add.
Well that's the thing. He won't talk to Jeff. LOL. He said the last time he ordered a 10 gallon super soft, it took 3 months to arrive, and this is from Texas to Texas. He got no replies when asking about it. Without slamming MF and causing another outburst, I'll just leave it at that. PM me if you want to know your future with that company.

I doubt if this will help as I’m a small potatoes bait maker . But when I’m making baits that I want super so Senkos in particular, I use 1oz softener to approximately 6 oz of salted plastic. This makes the baits super floppy and super soft. And I preftmy stickbaits and wacky worms super soft. Again not much help, but maybe with a whole lot of math it’s a starting point.
Thank you, brother. I think we might be in the same ballpark. Now I've gotta do my math and that's never a good thing.

So I just had a texting conversation with an old buddy of mine and he said MF is out of their super soft formula, but they do have a 55-gallon drum of regular. Anyone know how much of the MF brand softener is needed to make it super soft. I used to have notes on this stuff, but that was years ago. I'm guessing a couple quarts, but I could be off. Any help is appreciated.
Peace

Isn't that the 702 craw?
I feel like the 702 is a little thinner, but I could be wrong.
I was talking more about color. I think this is as good as it gets!

Whose craw is that?
Not positive because it was on my Facebook feed, but I think Big Bite.

If I could get a custom made aluminum mold delivered to my house in a month, I'd be thrilled!!
Anything in stock, now that's a different story.

I'm not anywhere near Michigan, but welcome to TU!!

I did years ago. Unless things have changed, it was one of the worst plastisols I have ever worked with. Hard packs easily and smoked big time!

A Senko and most stick baits are loaded with salt and other ingredients to get them to sink.

I don't know why I didn't think of this, but as a pest control guy, I get all my liquid chemicals from UPS. Of course, you can clearly hear/feel the liquid in the box. Probably won't with colorant.

Been working there going on 45 years. We deal with broken bottles all the time. Hence my advice pack the bottles in plastic bag.
Sorry my old eyes missed that, brother!

Back when I did this, I couldn't find anything softer than MF super soft. Don't know why you'd need anything softer than that. But like the others have said, to save your current batch, softener will do the trick.

The post office will ask you if there's anything liquid or hazardous. My only concern would be keeping those little bottles from sloshing around.

A simple one is black top, strawberry red with blue hi-lite bottom
But as Jig Man said, there are a few in the cook book that you might like
Good luck

I have a bunch of very similar worms, like the trick tails and such, but this exact model is a tough one.

Any pictures of what you're after? Or am I the only one who doesn't know what a cut tail worm is? LOL
