  1. i have some uncured silicone that would work. It is like play dough, ii send you some if you want to pay the shipping.
  2. i did say tin would make it hard but after thinking about it, i agree with you that tin does not make it harder. I have some pure tin in 1 lb bars and you can bend it pretty easy.
  3. harder lead won't help.....
  4. new solder is lead free and is mostly Tin, that will make it harder but it too expensive. you need something with antimony in it. wheel weight are probalbly 1% antimony. i don't know if that would be hard enough or not. the harder the lead, the harder to break off the spru. Roto metals has some here https://www.rotometals.com/antimonial-lead-ingots-5-pounds-2-4-antimony-lead/ that might work.
  5. thanks, i will take a look thanks, i will take a look
  6. thanks, well there is a lot of choices, i wish i could dimension them. i am getting a custom hook quote. thanks for your suggesions, i do appreciate it.
  7. yes, that looks real close. i wish i knew how long they are. Thanks,
  8. i think that one is too big also. the one i need is for panfish/crappie. a hook that bends easy. it looks like i will have to go with a custom hook., Thanks
  9. Thanks, they look a little big
  10. in the pic, the jig on the left is the hook, so someone makes it, unless it it a custom.
  11. thanks, i have the 38108, what i;m lookiing for has to be close to the pic. it has to fit a mold. all the different kinds and brands and shapes of hooks makes my head spin.
  12. yes a 30 might work, i need the eyelet turned. if you lay a 2190 on a table the eyelet lays flat on the table. i am going to make a mold fit the hook, so i am looking or turned eyelet, length and mouth of hook. i seen a mustad hook years ago that looked like this, it could have been a special order, so i found a pic with the correct eyelet next to the 2190.
  13. i have found a Eagle Claw hook #4, 2190, the eyelet is clocked wrong. i have attache a pic of the hook that is the same shape with the eyelet turned the direction i want. i thought Mustad use to have one, but i have not found anyting close. does anyone know if there is a hook like what i want. I have seen the hook in a jig, i don't have a pic of it. Thanks!
  14. i don't know what your lead looks like, but my guess is that it is pure lead. if i put a small amount of hard lead with blue lead it usually makes it shiny not blue. in 50 lbs of blue lead 1 lb of hard should do the trick. this is what google says; i have had some that is more than a hint of blue. it was dark blue and was 99.9% pure.

    wire bender

I was making unbrella rigs and didn't like how the twistech would rotate the whole rig and twist up the other wires just like the hagens did. also I was making bottom bouncers and I am sure the .051 wire was too big for the twisttech. I was thinking I might try to modify the Boggs to make it longer, but decided to stay with the Hagens.
