  1. Bass fished yesterday on Pickwick. Only caught 2, one was a five pounder. About lunch we started stripe fishing. Ended up with 29. Largest was a 9.5 pounder. Caught most of them on rattle traps. Went back bass fishing this afternoon on the Tenn-Tomm waterway. Only fished two hours and had nine nice bass. One five pounder and a four pounder. The rest were just good solid two pounder. All were spots. Caught most these fish on soft plastics I received in the swap. Only BAD thing was my wife beat me. I DID catch the biggest! [/img]
  2. Where can I find a tube mold? I've had several calls for them but can't find a mold. Someone sent some nice ones in the swap, so someone out there has one.
  3. Did you dye the hook as well? If you did, that would be much cheaper than buying red hooks. Wonder if that would work on treble hooks for crankbaits? You got me to thinking here Nathan!
  4. That's pretty awesome. Where'd you come up with the red wire?
  5. I love the gritty look you get when you drop a lure with a nice wet epoxy finish! We've all done it.
  6. You can buy a low stick masking tape. It does come off better. Try to avoid getting epoxy on the tape if at all possible. If you'll notice, most baits have a very small portion of the bill painted. This is to give yourself a little room to play with. Also, remove the masking tape as soon as you can. The longer it stays on, the harder to remove.
  7. If you're going to use a lot of salt, I'd recommend not using the production pot. You have to stir the plastic constantly to keep the alt blended. Also I'd suggest you use popcorn salt or something similar. It's much finer and blends with your plastic better. I only use my production pots for large pours. I perferr to only pour a couple ounces at a time when possible.
  8. Received my swap package yesterday. Only one problem! I can't keep my wife out of them!!! She's claiming all of'em!!! Great job guys. Can't wait until the next swap.

    Hi guys.

Glad to have ya back Del. When you get caught up I need to talk with ya about a mold.
  10. Big Splash, don't overlook that these were stripe, not regular bass. I'd fish in any weather for a day of bass fishing like that!
  11. Had I not had a brain fart and forgot to put my return addy in, I'd probably have mine by now! Can't wait till I get mine!
  12. After a long tournament season, (we start in Feb) it's nice to kick back and just go fishin'. This last Saturday I sure enough had the whole gang there. My oldest son is 21 and has his own boat. He was there along with my brother, cousin, me, my wife and stepson. So yeah, the gang was all there!
  13. Just to rub a little salt in you northern boys wounds, it was 85 here Saturday & Sunday. Carried my wife and lil crumbgrabber out stripe fishing both afternoons. Sunday afternoon we caught 52 with the average fish being 3 pounds. Largest was 6 pounds. Caught most on jigging spoons but several on a Spook. They kept me busy taking fish off the hooks for them most the afternoon. Can't wait until this weekend!
  14. I was thinking more in the line of buying a couple from you guys that whittle. With all my soft plastics, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs that I pour, there's just not enough time for me to pick up another habit. If any of you guys are interested pop me a pm.
  15. Any of you guys whittle out a Poe's 400 look alike? I love painting crankbaits but ain't much on whittling them out.
  16. Maybe we should have a smaller swap next time. I'm sure the number was a little much for some. Sure glad I live where its warm and can still use them year round!
  17. Guess I need to contact Del. Thanks for the info.
  18. Well I didn't do so great. My fish just wouldn't bite! I think I fished something like 10th or 11th. Oh well, that's fishin'. Been a good year anyway. Finished 9th overall for the year out of over 300 boats. Now it's time to start baitbuilding. Next year starts Feb 21st. Man, I may go into DT's before then!
  19. I have a senko type mold that is flat sided. Is Del's mold round? If so, is it an injection mold. I have an injector but really hate using it. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I get plastic everywhere and it burns the crap out of me. Of course to get the round senko i'd use it.
  20. Leaving out later today to fish the Mountain Dew Team Bass Trail Classic. I'm on a few good fish and fishing is tough right now. (Sure wish those good looking baits in the swap were here!) Everyone hold their breath for me. Could mean LOTS of money and a new boat! I'll let Y'all know Monday how it went.........kat
  21. There's no reason to add hardener to the 536. After all, softer baits is one reason we pour our own!
  22. You mean lakes freeze? Sorry has to be a S/A in every crowd. But I did see some ice around thge banks last year.
  23. Not sure how long it'll take my package to get that far north. I live way out in the boonies! It was mailed Monday so it should get there this week. I should have sent you northern boys some of these big ole 12 inchers I pour. Course the lil old yankee bass would run from'em. Just messining with y'all.
  24. Mine are in the mail as well!
  25. Sent mine by Pay Pal tonight also. Will ship the baits later this week.
