I’m not sure what’s in it but my hard lead camp from an old print shop. I’ve been mixing it in for a long time and still have a lot.

I’m working on one but can’t get the leader to hold. I’ve tried wood and plastic I just can’t get the leader to hold while I wrap the braid.

Have any of you made a tool for tying it? It seems that the Uncle Jim’s company didn’t make it. I have recently gone back to using braid and leader. The Alberto is the one I want to use but I am pretty shaky and need an assist.

I wound up modifying my mold. I mold in a 20 gauge wire, paint and bake. I pull the wire and epoxy in the 60 # surflon. It worked just fine yesterday on Table Rock lake. I caught a 4# lmb on a homemade easy shiner swim bait with my home made head.

I have the Do-It swim bait mold with the keel on the bottom. The smallest cavity is 1/4 oz. I am catching bass shallow on swim baits. I want to fill up the keel area so I can get near 1/8 oz jigs but only temporarily. Is there anything that I can use to fill or block off that area for a few dozen jigs then remove it when I want to pour 1/4 oz. I’ve unsuccessfully tried a led plug. Ideas??

I use Calhoun’s medium and have not needed to use my softener in a long time. I’m wanting to make extremely soft slick shiners. How much softener would be the max in 4 oz of plastisol?

If you go the wheel weights route I have been told to be sure it doesn’t contain zinc.

I don’t have experience with this mold but I have an Angling AI grub mold that is listed as a 5 in but measuring the mold the grub is like 3 1/2”. I guess it may be 5 as it goes through the water.

Mark have you ever used baking soda to accelerate super glue?

How do you get it to stay in the jig head. What size line? I’m going to be doing 1/8 and 1/4 ball head jigs.

I’ve used 90 on some jigs it has been Okay. However, I am going to make some weedless swim bait heads. I have just done some with 90# and it seems like it may be too stiff. 90 and 20 are all I have ever used. Do you think 60 would be adequate and not too stiff or should I look at another one. I fish upland reservoirs where we have rocks and wood. It seemed like all I did yesterday was pull in limbs.

Will anything dissolve it? I’m wanting to undo a previous mod on a mold. This stuff has been there 20 years. I tried acetone on a qtip and it didn’t budge it.

I hadn't really noticed that with the Victory hooks but the vmc which is similar to the Victory is very pronounced.

I have not noticed your concern with them, but I skin hook mine.

Generally I find that much larger hooks than listed will fit. If they don’t then a few minutes with a Dremel will rectify that.

Yes heat stabilizer makes things yellow. Use only a few drops. -

Have you tried reducing the heating cycles? I find 30-45 seconds then stir works best for me. -
My wide mouth jars came from a bowling alley. I got them from a bar tinder. They get pickles in them. School cafeterias also have them.
