  1. Anyone hear makes hand held silicone molds? I have a few items I want to make a mold for just so I can pour several to send to have a spin cast mold made
  2. Ben, What brand of Electrostatic gun do you have? looking at buying one for the spinner bait and buzzbaits Thanks Bill B&D Custom Lures
  3. Just recieved my custom fluid bed and it works great! I had mine built at 22 in x 12in and so far no problems. I'm now working on trying to keep the paint off the hooks of spinner and buzz baits. Aluminum foil works ok but messy and a lot of trouble. would like to find high temp silicone tubing .experimenting with hitemp silicone pre hardin into lil strips to thread on hook
  4. Just recieved a call from CSI and my fluid bed will be shipped ASAP .but with the holiday who know's when I get it.They told me once I get it to call them and they will walk me through it. I will let you n=know. you can reach me at 1-888-EVIL-VEE if you'd like to talk firsh hand. I'm neededing help with my Store Front 6.0 software if you know anyone that could help? Thanks Bill
  5. Hey Uncle Wes, This is Bill from B&D Custom Lures. I saw this post and wondered who it was .I thought it was one of our Pro Staff members at first? Give me a shout some time Uncle Wes. 1-888-EVILVEE Welcome aboard B and D.hmmm sounds odd saying that (like to myself)
  6. Hey Cobra, Just click here http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1319 to read an earlier post about using brushs. We still dip our jigs but I add a small air source to the tray and it puts an ok amount aof paint on the jigs but it takes longer. I just ordered a fluid bed and hope to get it soon.
  7. yes the paint flows out at 225 degrees' I've ordered a large fluid bed and I hope to have it by next week and I will then give you any updates
  8. Hey guys, Eastwoods gun does not clog like CSI'S due to higher pressure. The electro guns are great for large items but is tough on small items like we do. Just don't touch the tip out that gun either.WOW! it will light you up!! I spoke we the owner of CSI and he's trying to get the Electro gun without the electronics for our stuff to get the cost of the unit down. My only problem is getting the powder on everything(Wire, hook) the Eloctro gun would be very fast but like spraying the powder it makes such a mess. Any ideas you may have on keeping the powder off everything sprayed would be helpful and cut down on the trial and error time.
  9. We cast the weed guard in the jig and heat them around 225 degrees and then dip them in the powder paint. This works fine ,the powder sometimes does not melt completely but we bake them fo 30min at 225 degrees anyway and that takes care of it. The black fiber guards do great but the other colors tend to flare out when heated so we are going to try inserting aluminum sleeves over the guards before heating. Nost the anglers that have seen the guards flared out want thme because they normaly flare them out for better hook sets anyway.
  10. I have done what you are talking about .The gun is only $40.00 but it is not worth a darn for painting heads at all.maybe blades. It clogs up to easy. I was thinking of getting an electro spray gun with out the electronics but they are still over $400.00
  11. I ordered a custom bed last week to handle 3rows of 1/2 jigs. I just hope it works the way it should at $285.00
  12. Tally give me a shout some time . Thanks Bill 1-888-EVILVEE
  13. Just ordered one from CSI.and wanted to know if anyone here has one to get any tips
  14. Hey Bascat, I've found that if you heat the jigs at 250 degrees it won't bother the black weed guards. But for some reason the clear ,brown etc. tend to fan out. Like what was mentioned about the aluminum tubing works the best it just adds another step in the process.
  15. We've been doing this for over 2yrs.(Just don't let your brush get to close) We heat up around 30 heads at a time in the toaster oven then grab one at a time with hemostat's then paint 1 at a time till the rack is empty then we place the painted heads in a standard oven and bake for 45 mins to cure. You can see some of our products on our web site www.banddcustomlures.com. I made up a jig to hold 20 heads and modified CSI spray gun but still doesn't work like I want. This is the only thing that slows us down from a higher production. takes about 1hour to paint around 200 heads
