    stix

Looking for someone to do a small run of 5.25 stix, i have a specific custom colour in mind... was using LC grape, LC strawberry red, fuscia and purple glitter and white pearl powder... it's a junebug type colour, but darker... i *may* have a sample i can send out... looking for 25 or so, sorry such a small amount... PM me with pricing- if you're in Canada even better, if not no worries...
  2. No worries on that.. i'm 10mins from Niagara Falls, NY and always have my stuff shipped there... never a hassle coming in with it
  3. interesting, i wonder how fiberglass being used for the divider would hold up... apparently it doesn't respond to heat until 1700*+.... and the resing itself is used for molds... wish i had the room to give it a go
  4. plum purple with purple and fuschia flake, no matter water visibilty they always seem to get bit
  5. the other thing you may try doing is turning the flash off and using a longer shutter speed... if you have a setting for aperture on your camera set it and it'll adjust the shutter speed for you, if taht doesn't work keep taking pics in shutter priority until you get the right exposure... a light tent would be a real good solution and cheap to make aswell, DelW posted a how to for one a while back... but hey, if it were me i'd be happy with that pic, but still looking for perfection
  6. main page is up, all links are dead for me...
  7. all i wanna know is... jim did you get my PM?
  8. use USPS or Fedex.... i'm not sure how big of a box USPS deals with, as i don't have to worry about it i just ship it to my address in the U.S. and bring it through my business, takes me an extra 2hrs to do so but saves me a TON in shipping and the brokerage and crap... living near Niagara Falls is sometimes a good thing lol
  9. my inlaws used to show horses and they used huge stainless needles for them, my father in law told me they had nice wide openings and would probably be perfect to use for pouring... might be worth a try to visit a farmer or vet or something, used to get his from a local farming store lol
  10. you were fishing in my backyard, okay not literally.... are you a member of OFN or NFN? here is the only place i know of... http://www.lurecraft.com/catalog.cfm/molds/plastic-molds/big-fish-baits I'm sure Del or Bob could make a custom one, but it sure wouldn't be cheap!!
  11. there used to be a tutorial on this site regarding that... it was a clear silicone with some water added, worked fine from what i remember... also remember the turotial using a lego blocks as a support for the silicone to sit in...
  12. i, and my customers, prefer a really bright pink as opposed to a dark pink (like the original bubblegum)... for me i use: 6oz plastic 1oz softener 1.5oz salt 10 drops fl. pink 5 drops of white it's a really really bright pink, similiar to GYCB pink but brighter... i bought some premixed bubblegum but it was too dark, and for some reason i got bubbles with it, didn't care as it just wasn't bright enough! I will post a pic tonight, gotta take the wife in to get her new diamonds (there goes several molds lol)
  13. good to hear.... tho not surprised taht Jim's work perfect!! Keep reporting back on your field tests!! I'm waiting on a PM return to see if he's got any more going on ebay so i can give 'em a try... bass season closes late Nov and doesn't open until late June, so i wanna see what the hype is all about...
  14. i wonder if framing some type of screen and brushing paint/ink/dye to it and then rolling the bait while it's still on the knife, prior to the last dip, would accomplish anything... no molds to try it out, so someone can give that a go if they wish lol
  15. "cored" senko... it's clear (with come salt) with a blue centre, worked VERY well for me i poured my first colour (clear), let it set up a bit and then poured the blue gave it a little bit of extra time to setup and then closed the mold and poured the clear again... it stayed solid and didn't give the split vein effect the blue was totally surrounded by clear
  16. congrats Jim!!.... hope you got a copy of the mag, it's something to be proud of for sure!!
  17. i pour a bit of erie green and i use: 4oz plastic 1/2oz salt 1 drop MF fl. chart. couple drops of lurecraft emerald green (depending on how much glitter you add- more glitter makes it lighter) .015 gold holo glitter (original calls for just plain gold glitter) I'm sure if you add more green/darker green/watermelon you'll come up with a close colour to that, so many ways to get this colour done... i also used to mizmo's big boy erie green to match, it's not nearly as light in colour as the website shows tho... give it a try it's an easy one to match
  18. Yep, i tossed that link out in his other thread... figure he mighta just missed the mold being available on it's own
  19. the good news is that brand new ones are only $62. plus shipping ($7 or somewhere abouts) from Del-Mart or Bobstackleshack The bad news.... used ones go for almost full retail lol
  20. my advice, buy one of these kits, the ones with the mold of course if they aren't what you're looking for try lurecraft.com or bobstackleshack.com, buy a cheap $40 microwave a few pyrex cups and a few dollar store butter knifes and you've got enough to get started!! From there, you should know pretty much what you're missing... it's not really that complicated once you have it in your hands and have played around for a day or so with it... as you get further on, you can make your own molds, with plaster of paris (referred to as POP), of baits you've designed or want to copy... couple hundred dollars investment and you'll have enough plastisol to pour several thousand worms... http://www.del-mart.com/shop/home.php?cat=254
  21. am i the only guy that walks into a tackle shop and stays for an hour and buys more than he went there for? lol... it's cheaper just to keep me outta the shop lol
  22. guess i'm gonna have to break down and order some MF sent me the neon blue and the yellow/green neon, haven't tried the yellow/green yet... shipping is hard to take on small orders, but i am gonna order more blue and a few other colours... maybe that brown neon and iridescent pearl, wish they had a colour guide on their site.
  23. does anyone use this stuff? i got a sample from MF and i gave it a go, probably alot harder to keep consitent colour wise... tried the neon blue, 1/8tsp w/blue flakes and it made a nice smokey blue colour i can't seem to duplicate using liquid colouring... and as luck would have it, i have been doing really well with this colour and i'm just about out of the powder... wondering if anyone has used it and tried to match it to a colour they poured with liquid dye?
  24. you know, i'm a shorebound angler and when i'm fishin' along side a stranger and they're tossing senko's and i'm tossing my hand pour senko's in a colour that you can't buy and i'm the only one of the 2 of us catching anything, it really makes it worth it, especially when you hand off a few of your baits to the guy Has it saved me money? ALOT i can guarantee that and it's even made me money... if you plan on grabbing a mold and a gallon of plastic and that's it, then it's probably not worth it, but if you plan to keep buying more plastic then you save more and it's easily worth it
  25. sweet pours, can only dream of getting that good... it looks like signature Bob's mold, looking at the squarish paddletail... i assume they produce well? never tried a soft plastic swimbait before, heck i don't know if we can even buy them locally
