On the blade arm of the spinnerbait wire, I usually put a bead before and after the clevis to give the clevis a bearing to spin on.The front bead helps the clevis to keep spinning if the bait goes through lake snot. I also usually put a bead after the spacer sleeves and before the loop the swivel goes on. I just do this in case I am not perfect in bending my loop. The last bead prevents the spacer sleeve from potentially sliding into the loop.

Pic - I spaced out the components to make them easier to see. Order put on the arm:  bead, clevis with front blade, bead, spacer sleeve(s), bead, end of wire loop with swivel and rear blade.

The beads on this bait are 1/8". The frame is a compact hidden weight LPO frame.

Full pic of the bait is in this post.

This is how I do it as well with hollow beads and leader sleeves. I will not use a plastic bead for metal to rotate on as it just is a bad idea.

Somedays I very much understand why Shawn Collins quit responding to a lot of people's emails.

    GAHHHH!

I understand the tire kickers and the guys that think a custom CNC mold should be the same price as a Do-it one. What gets me is I have bought 9 molds from him and cannot get a reply about buying some more of his base pins.

Thanks for checking. What is the reason for not fitting? Is the 5/0 hook wire too big in diameter? Some other reason? I was curious about the fit of the 4/0 because it is the same diameter as the 1/0 Mustad 91768, which fits my mold.

Is the hook in the picture the VMC? It appears to be similar to the 1/0 Mustad 91768 that I showed in my picture.

Eye is just a little too big to fit the mold with the the 5/0. You could easily modify it though if you want to use that hook.

Yes that is a VMC hook (have to find the pack to see what model number) which I like better than the Mustad 91768. The VMC runs larger in these hooks as a size 1/0 is the same size or slightly bigger than the Mustad 2/0. Another thing is the gap is not as wide but these work really well for weighted swimbait hooks.

I bet you’re right. My 91768 hooks work well and they are 30 degree. The 32724s are similar in diameter. I’ll buy a few and try it out. Thanks for checking. I appreciate it!

I have that mold and some 5/0 32724's so I can check.

Gotcha. Thanks. I certainly don't need 1000+. I might just give that light wire Mustad 32724 a try.

There isn't much difference between the two and 97% of people cannot tell them apart. If you just want a few to try I can send you some? I have at least 900 of them right now.

Thanks Allen. I can't seem to find a source for the EC hook. Barlows doesn't have it, nor does LPO. Any suggestions for another source?

Not sure then but I did get some from one of those places? I by mine from Shorty's by the thousands now.

Thanks Allen! Do you know what the hook number is for the EC hook, off hand? No big deal if you don’t. I can find it. I thought I read somewhere that the Gama hook would have to be purchased in huge lots. I’m just looking for myself, not production scale.

L2724 is the model number, you can also bend hooks to 30 degrees.

I know the fellow i buy all of my jigs from said mustad has a generic chinese hook, but he decided against using  them when his supplier tried to get him to try them because of being cheaper.  The  hooks he uses  don't rust & he had samples sent to him & he said the generic mustad  would pretty quick.

If the points are dull and the eye is crooked than they are real Mustads.

  9. I would say good luck communicating with them. Sent them 5 emails and only received one reply so far. I ask about having some Hole-In-One skirts made in non stock colors and just received a link to their web page.
