  4. I second Ted's recommendation of Mustang Wire. Mark is great to deal with and I have never had any troubles out of them. www.mustangwire.com
  5. Forcing the weedguards in the socket will cause this. I have noticed on mine that the ones I really had to push on when I set them spread out. Another thing to ponder is if you use epoxy, epoxy produces heat as it cures. So, does it produce enough to flare out the weedguard?????
  6. I to have never heard of this practice. I wonder if their molds are setup that to get 200 they actually end up with 220? So they just go ahead and charge you for all of them. Anyway, I get mine from the most awesome place ever. The guy goes by the name of "Cadman" and he does excellent work......
  7. I tried heating with a heat gun but was always getting different results. This is what I do. I heat the spinnerbaits in the toaster oven at 150 degrees. When I take one out, I grab the hook with a wet cloth and this cools the hook off. I then swish the spinnerbait in my fluid bed to get a nice even coat. Then if I want to add accents, I will use my heat gun to heat it back up and use a brush according to Ted's instructions.
  8. Anyone know where I can get some #9 or #10 willowleaf blades? Barlow's, Janns don't carry them and Stamina's are $3.00 a piece. Thanks Ron
  9. I still have the presto pot and 3 aluminum molds for sale. See Garage sale post for more details. If interested in any of it, make me an offer. I need to sell all 4. 12. Got to much stuff and some of it has got to go. So, I am giving up the plastic hobby. I built this Pesto Pot from MBroggi's directions. It has the larger motor from Grainger. I don't remember the speed but the motor was $85.00. I have used it a few times and it works great. $170.00 shipped to your door. The aluminum molds are as follows: 2 - Del's 2 piece 5" diamond tail molds $80.00 each + shipping 1 - Del's 2 piece 5" spade tail mold $75.00 + shipping The spade tail mold has 2 scratches on the outside but the inside of the mold is good as new. Shipping on the molds is $5.00 for the first one. If you buy 2 or more, I will try to get them in a priority mail envelope. I will list the plastics in a separate listings. If interested in any of this, please contact me at fivekeepers@hotmail.com
  13. I agree the illusion colors are awesome!!! I use the lapis and emerald. I will say they are easier to work with if you use a fluid bed to put them on. The illusions don't fluff like normal powder in a jar.
  14. I think we would all agree that it is a matter of preference. I personally use the SPRO swivels and never had any problem with them. But, I will have to say I have never tried the crane swivels.
  15. Can FG-30 weedguards be used in a FG-40 mold? Thanks Ron
  16. does it matter if you pay the excise tax when you buy or when you sell? I always pay the excise tax when I buy and figure that into my price when I sell. So, legally does it matter if the excise tax is paid when I buy the components vs when I sell them?
  17. Chad, The other guys have pretty much covered #1 but I will share my little bit of insight on #2 When the silicone is mixed, they have to spread it out and let it setup. It is a shot in the dark on when it is cured. The rule of thumb is around 97-98% cured. If it is not cured enough, that is what causes the stickyness. Color also has a lot to do with it. Like you said black is the worst. Watermelon is another bad color. GLC is trying many things to try and reduce this problem. 1st they tried packaging the tabs in 100 count packs. But with 1000s of tabs in a box, they still compact and stick together. They are now trying the talc route. I have to say the brown/black flake I got last week had talc in them and they were not as sticky as normal. I hope this helps. Charles is much more intelligent in this area than me.
  18. J is correct on this but the Living Image is the only one that is .25 each. All other tabs start out at .20 each. We are carrying skirt making kits now. You get 100 tabs, collars, skirt tool and boat box. Charles is also working on several new items that will hopefully be out this year.
  19. Nothing like catching those big spots on Neeley. Don't get down there as much since I haven't been fishing the BFLs. I spend most of my time in the garage with the science projects now...... Any who... Welcome to the obsession.
  20. I am cleaning out for the winter and I have ~700 Bronze Mustad 32756 hooks. $20.00 shipped to you. I thought I would offer them here before putting on ebay. Email me at fivekeepers@hotmail.com Thanks Ron
  21. Del, Do they cut a vent at the tip of the tail for the air to escape from?

    Jig Tying

I tie all of my jigs with .026 coated copper wire and I have never had a problem with cutting into the skirt. I am sure that thread is the same way. Hope this helps.
  23. I will try to take a pic of them if I can. Heating the molds cured the problem with the rings not filling in. Now the only problem I am having is the line running along the worm.
