  1. You're kidding right Jason? Those are some world-class looking baits!!
  2. Thanks Benton B..you have a PM...anyone else?
  3. Hello. Does anyone here on TU make a bait similar to the old Heddon Hedd-Hunter? Not the deep runner (with the"magic hole" diving bill) but the medium runner in 3/8 oz size. This was the bait with the wide curved back and very narrow belly. A true snake to hyper tune, but the incredible action was worth it. Even with two oversized trebles added it had about "4 shakes to the foot" LOL this bait was also a HUNTER. It was also amazingly weedless. I used to find them reasonably priced on EBAY but they are now getting too rich for my wallet! I would rather just pay someone here that money... Dave
  4. Hello! Hey Cadman, I too would be interested in a few large 3/8 or 1/2 oz size. I have been looking for those blades for years. I even tried making them but with VERY little success. You were right about the color changing - but THAT SQUEEEEL! I used them with a stainless rivet and even on a long cast those baits came up just singing, they were that loud...I had 5 of them, and remember I bought them as whole buzzbaits from some little bait shop in Astor,FL about '75 and they sat around for several years. When I started making my own buzzbaits I whacked the blade off of them and used them with my set-up. Wow !! Those 5 blades made me some good money in a few night tournaments !! I would love to find a few more. They were the standard wire through delta blades in 3/8 size. Great blades. Dave
  5. Hey guys...looks just like a Power Hawg to me.....
  6. good looking bait...is it salted for sinking?
  7. Thanks DP it was close...I think its a HELIX BUZZ (made by the same company as your example) but without seeing a much better picture or actually holding one it would be hard to say absolutely. Does anyone know if these blades are patented, or if they are available in the aftermarket? Somebody must have used these blades, any comments? Again any information would be great! Thanks....
  8. close...but no cigar. The blade seemed a bit thinner. I wish I had taken a picture!
  9. Hello! I need some help locating a strange (at least to me) type of buzzbait blade. I had a client out on Lake Kissimmee last week and he had a buzzbait with this odd egg -beater shaped blade. It was given to him by someone else and did not know the make, but he said his guy is sponsered by Lucky Craft. Could this be a L.C. bait? It was obviously a very high quality bait. I thought I has seen them all. It had a very interesting sound (more of a whirling sound)and it CAUGHT FISH! He caught 4 on it before the sun got too high (to my 2 on my "normal" homemade buzzbait but I had the big one lol) another friend suggested it might be a "members only" type of bait,I understand L.C. does that from time to time. Any help would be appreciated...
  10. Hello! I have been pouring my two part molds using Stanley adjustable clamps, with no problems. Its a matter of using what you have. I only use two pins for alignment and the clamp to hold the mold.
  11. Great job...both are sweet lookin' baits!
  12. Hello One Sock! for your hooks try http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/index.cfm?page=products&catid=6&view=1 Matzuo hooks are some fine product IMHO......Davehttp://www.captainhookswarehouse.com http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com
  13. Let us not forget the MAIN reason most of us keep it a hobby. Do not forget to figure 20-25 % for TAXES, and all of the paperwork and related cost.
  14. I agree with Del. I use his Motor oil coloring with just a match head of green highlight and it is almost dead on with the chameleon type of motor oil...The exact shade is determined by light levels, water color and clarity. This color is tough to duplicate with any type of salt added to your bait.
  15. Those are some great looking baits, man! Beautiful work.....
  16. Hillbilly, you are correct...The Gambler Junebug is more of a Black Grape / Green glitter, as compared to say a Zoom or Berkley junebug, which is more of a reddish purple/ green glitter...its just us old school Florida guys who refuse to give up our "Florida Grape" (WARNING "seventies term")which is a dark (purple based) grape...A good match is my "Kissimmee Chain Junebug" recipe which is as follows... (This recipe also splits in half well for 4 oz.) ...... 8 oz. plastisol of choice 24 drops MF indigo 4 drops MF strawberry red 4 drops MF black 1/2 teaspoon total of green glitter , personally I like at least two sizes of green glitter...I like a mixture of medium and "rat hair" glitters. Remember, at least for me, green glitters dont seem to do well in reheats...they almost seem to disappear...good luck.....Dave
  17. Lets not forget to add the safety warning also....micro glass bubbles are NASTY little boogers to the human lungs...please be CAREFUL and use the proper gear...also. let it slowly slide off the spoon as you stir, if you just dump it all at one time it tends to cause a small cloud of it around the top of the cup...not good! Live a long time so you can fish a long time...Dave
  18. I'm with Harley...try some M-F floatant and those frogs and toads will float like a cork, even with a BIG hook...Dave
  19. Same thought here guys....way too harsh..I think we all ought to sweep our own porch, etc. Nil and Jeff said it best....
  20. or...."Swimmin Slimmow" or course since you already have a "Grumpy" in your fine line of baits you could make it a themed thing and call one "Sneezy" or "Sleepy" ...you might however, want to avoid "Dopey" in this current PC rage LOL! maybe "Doc" but I like "Happy".....great looking bait, no matter what you call it.
  21. OK...I'll bite....... Slimmow Shad
  22. Hey guys, I think you're missing the point. Believe me I have had this discussion a hundred times with fishin' buddies. There is NO big name lure (or line, reel, rod, etc) company that will pay you a DIME without solid proof (see; a polygraph, or seven ) the risk is not worth it. Say company X pays you a cool million to promote "their" record setting lure. Three weeks into your rock star tour you get religion, and come clean. That company is gone, kaput, finito...see my point? IF and when a World Record Bass is caught, you can bet you will get the proper story....its the ONLY way anyone will make a true fortune from such a feat.....Dave
  23. Great Job! How much does she charge? Perfect!
