  1. Cool, glad I could help. I don't have any experience with the other stuff that was brought up here, but I'm sure that it works just as good.
  2. I know a few way to do that myself, not from fishing tourneys, but for other competitions that I have been in. The first one is never follow the group, no matter what. The other is if you catch someone watching, just smile, wave and get back to business. That drive some folks crazy that you jsut played it off like that and kinda makes them double think themselves.
  3. I look forward to the pictures. I always love watching a little yankee engineering at work. Thank you and thanx for TU for letting us share info:yay: .
  4. Ah ok, thanx for clearing that up. I see what you mean now. And separating it from the rest of the booth in it's own bow can't hurt either. Once you start using it, I would be curious to know how it worked out.
  5. This may sound like a silly question, but what kind of blower did you get? One thing to look out for, just a suggestion is make sure the motor for the fan doesn't spark too much. I'm sure it's just fine, but if it does spark, you may have a fire hazzard. Now as I said, it's a small thing, but something to think about. What could happen is if the blower does spark a little it could ignite the paint fumes.
  6. I can't help you on the clear coat, but I may be able to help you with the paint removal. Try Castrol Super Clean. I don't have much experience in crankbaits, but I have a ton of experience in model building, and it always worked wonders stripping paint off of styrene. Something to try anyway. I hope that helped you some.
  7. They look great. I liked the eye thing myself. You never know, it may be that injured baitfish look you need.
  8. This may sound like a dumb question, but what kind of wood did you use to start with. I'm a total newbie to this .
  9. I think it would be a great idea for some time in the future. Especially for folks like me just getting started in this. I can see the logistical nightmare, even for doing this by state. But at least the ball is rolling now. Wht we need to do is find out where everyone is from, in a state by state basis, or country as the case may be. and go from there.
  10. Hows everyone doing? Just saying hello. Glad to be here. I'm a rank amature at lure making, but I figured I would give it a shot and see what happens. I do have some model building experience behind me, so i may be able to pull from that. So for right now, I'm going to be reading posts and trying to glean as much information as possible. Trust me, I'll be asking questions as well.
  11. Great story Uncle Wes. I have had quite a few hats like that:lol: , I feel your pain buddy.
  12. I was just looking at some of these dring wheels. I was thinking that I do have an old BBQ rotisarie motor laying around. I was thinking of making a few plugs for myself and the info I found here is very helpful. Thanx guys.
