I have some molds that are just sitting around and I need them gone to complete a boat project so offers are considered, but I am NOT trading for other molds! Del Mart 3 3/4 thing mold, two molds, one never had the venting cut into it, it actually injects good though, other one has large venting and doesn't inject to great, both were meant to be handpoured molds, so you can inject one and hand pour one, Molds are around $65 new will take $60 shipped for both or offer on seperation Mud bug mold, hand pour old style pours good just don't use $73 new will take 50 shipped (forgot pic sorry) Dels 5" grub mold hand pour mold has a tool mark on one of the tails, does not affect the bait at all though. I have been injecting these and it works good (the top is not drilled for an injector) $84 new will sell for $40 shipped BassTackle Blue gill mold, I have 2 of these one is missing the insert rod though (and the nut at the end) $99 each new will sell for $150 Bass Tackle fat shad, I really hate to part with these 2 they pour a sweet bait that catch fish, I wanted to sell the baits someday but have realized the swim bait market is not for me, I also have a shawn collins custom molds that pours lead inserts for these so you don't have to buy inserts for them (this is a rare mold) will take $300 for all shipped (not willing to separate at this time) Bobs tackle shack buzz frog mold is in good condition and pours a nice bait but I don't fish these that often and have about a 5 year supply poured is like $115 new will take $80 shipped
6. www.northstarbaits.com Jigheads are at the bottom of each jig page
7. I also tried the gp with black flake and the brown with black flake, and had the same problems, the stuff is junk, I really wanted to give the paint a good try cause I liked the price and the colors, but I cant get it to not be textured. I have painted thousands of jigs with pro tec and have never had a problem, always turns out smooth and shiny, this stuff doesn't
8. I feel out of the loop on this but where are you guys getting liquid powder from?
9. You can also check NorthStar Custom baits
10. Thhe jig hooks are still on their website
11. It is just a medium plastic, not a soft, I think its actually just a cheap plastic, doesn't seem very clear to me.
12. Ken Huddleston is an originator, he designed that tail and used it on all his baits, at one point and time swimbait makers had respect for one another and they each used a different tail design so they weren't ripping each other off. Now their is countless companies ripping off these guys designs that took years to come up with so they can make some quick cash on the swimbait craze. So yes IMHO he should have been granted the patent, along time ago. Maybe look some things up before you comment
13. No dip, but my initial plan was to just dip to where a 4/0 hook will sit with medium plastic to toughen it up a bit and hopefully prevent the bait from being ripped to shreds
14. Tested mine out today also, I was pretty impressed. Used Calhouns soft, swam good at most speeds, had a little tail action on the fall using a 1/8 weighted hook, I didn't bring other weights with, wish I did to give it a more thorough testing
15. Mine is being shipped right now. I cant wait!
16. He is on the east coast... can't remember the state, maybe Virginia. I always defended him, but he has one of my masters for a custom and I can't get ahold of him, I am a little pizzed to, at least I am not out money though
17. Use harder lead, and let it cood longer in the mold, also make sure you are not grabbing the jig out og the mold by the hook, this will loosen it up. If all else fails powder paint it and make sure the weedguard is where you want it before baking this will seal the lead to the head
18. Thank you, I wil probably go without the vulcanizer for now. Lots to think about, even at the reduced price it will be the most expensive piece of equipment I hav ever bought for my company
19. Reeves, I have another question for you, do you makie your own molds for your machines? If not, who do you have do your molds?
20. Thanks Reeves, that was exactly what I was looking for!
