  1. Thanks for the info , where do you get the teflon pins? Jigman2
  2. Hey Ya'll Is anyone powder coating jig's? I recently started making weedless jigs and am having problems with the weed guards. I have poured with the weed guard in the mold, and with pin's in and glued the weed guards in and then powder coated the jig's but my weed guards all show signs of heat damage. Do i need to powder coat them with the pins in and then remove the pin's and glue the weed guards in? And if so how do you keep the paint from cracking when the pin's are removed? Please help this is a big problem for me! Jigman2

    Dents

This is all very intresting, I just finished pouring a gallon of 5 1/4" stick baits and discovered DENTS on about 6 or 7 of them, upon further investigation I also found that the same dented baits were a bit longer than the rest. My conclusion was that those 6 or 7 had been taken out of the mold too soon and were streched and dented by the removing of the baits from the mold too soon. I'm not saying that is what caused your DENTS but I beleve that is what caused mine as I am using a 7 cavity mold. jigman2
  4. I guess I wasn't asking the right question, LOL sorry vodkaman, what I wanted was (a mold for a sprue) not a sprue. I thank you all for the info and am sorry I was not clear, LMAO on what I wanted. Please forgive me for my frustration, as I should not take it out on any one here you are and have been so much help to me in the past. Well I guess I will have another one. Thanks for clearing up what I really was looking for. As always the injunity on this site is remarkable. Thanks:whistle: Jigman2
  5. Vodkaman I need them to put in my media so that when It dries I can remove the sprue's and have a hole to pour the plastic into to creat a bait. Too much vodka or what?
  6. Yes Vodkaman you are right, but you have to have the sprue in place when you pour the mold so it it there when the material has set. Do you understand that?
  7. Can anyone tell me where I can get som sprue's? Thanks ahead of time Jigman2
  8. Well, as fare as the eye on tropical fish being larger , it's more of a self defence thing. The BIG fish sees some little fish he may want to eat, The little fish trys to make him or her self look BIGGER and more FEARCE, in hops of not getting eaten. Got the consept. Jigman2:yes:
  9. I too have experenced the same problem. I cured the problem by thinning the d2t with acetone, It dont take much and applied 2 coats. The acetone helps the epoxy soak in to the balsa and really works well. Jigman2:twocents:
  10. Try using some soft putty, press the blade down and it should hold it in place while you are doing what ever you do when finished and dry remove from putty. Cleanup should be easy and then turn the blade over and repeat. Jigman2:whistle:
  11. Vodkaman your Hairy-worm what is the formula for that color? I have been looking and trying to match a color simular to that for some time, you seem to have it down. Will you share? Jigman2:whistle:
  12. I've found while looking at various websites that an injection system can be built at home. There are many safety considerations that should be thought out and procedures to follow. ???? Has anyone out there built their own injection system? Could you answer these questions 1 Cost. 2 ease of use. 3 Safety considerations. Thanks Jigman2:whistle:
