Brand new, never used Delmart one piece aluminum 6" lizzard mold. 2 cavity. Brand new. Lure craft one piece aluminum finnesse worm mold. four cavity. only used a couple times. perfect cond. Also throwing in one brand new gallon of calhouns soft plastic from delmart. Only asking $150 for everything
  3. This is probably a very obvious mistake, but i'm having a very hard time finding a color that will match the green pumpkin made by zoom. I use all del mart colors and pour plastic 4oz at a time. Any help?? Thanks
  4. Just got my shaky head worm mold from del. My question is when pouring these baits, do i go about it just like the diamond tail worm? Do i need to add any hardener, softener, or anything else? Right now i'm just adding scent. Am i doing it right or leaving something out? I though i may need to add something to help it float??
  5. I just got my anise and garlic scent in. My question is when do i add the scent and how much do i add? I was think of pouring a little of each into the plastic before i heat it, and then maybe a little more when i bag them? Am i close? Whats the best way of doing this?
  6. I have my pouring station set up in my basement. The temp of the basement is warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Right now during winter months the temp probably stays around 55-60 degrees. My question is will it be ok to keep my color and glitter stored in those temps. I keep my plastic stored inside the house but it would be easier if i didnt have to transport all my colors and etc all the time? Will storing the colors in cooler temps cause them to break down or anything? Or will it be fine? thanks, adam
  7. well i just got done pouring again tonight. It went much much better. I found that if i heat my plastic just a little bit longer the bubbles will dissolve. Obviously i wasnt heating it long enough. Each of my four pours tonight were very clear. I also found that if i slow down on my pours they turn out much better. I'm sure the hotter temp of the plastic made the consistenct better which helped me to pour a slower steady stream. Thanks for all your help and input. I'm sure i will have a million more questions but i think i'm finally on the right track. thanks, adam
  8. thanks for all the help guys. I'm going to pour tonight, i'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again.
  9. my molds is aluminum. I ordered it from del. What is the best way to pre-heat the mold??
  10. that would be great dave. Thanks for all the pointers guys. I will pour again tonight and let you know how it goes.
  11. i dont have any pics of them. My problem is when i pour only half or so of the worm turns out the other half is just a tiny line of plastic leading to the top. I'm topping the holes off. I'll usually have one or two good ones out of every 5
  12. well i have poured about 3 or 4 nights now. Having some issues with the following areas. Bubbles (which i stated in another thread) also when im pouring into my two piece diamond tail worm mold which is 5 cavity i hardley ever get 5 good worms. Most of the time at least 3 of them dont mold good. It's usually the top 1/4 of the bait that doesnt take well. I top the holes off till they over flow but they still dont turn out. What am i doing wrong? Also my baits seem to look "clear" even when pouring a color like green pumpkin they got a clear tent to them. esp around the bottom of the worm. am i not putting enough color in?? any ideas?? thanks, adam
  13. that makes sense longhorn. I am pouring at least 3 days a week. I also store my plastic at room temp, does this mean i dont need to shake my plastic before i use it?? maybe thats when the bubbles are being created???
  14. thats a very good point and makes a lot of sense. However i have the bubbles before i even pour. You can look in the pyrex cup and see the bubbles everywhere.
  15. I'm still getting air bubbles in all my pours. Using calhoun plastic heated by microwave. I'm stirring with metal stick, and storing all plastic and color at room temp with lids on tight. Other than the bubbles everything is going good. What is causing this?? Help please??
  16. thanks for all the info guys. What each of you said about this hobby being addictive is very true. I'm really enjoying it. I will try to post some pics tonight. Still got a long way to go and a lot to learn. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  17. well i made my very first pours tonight. I chose green pumpkin as my color and a two piece diamond tail worm mold from del. I didnt add any salt or scent just trying to keep things simple. i used calhoun plastic heated by microwave. All things considered it went well for my first time i guess. i only had two problems. The first thing is my plastic had tiny air bubles in it? What would be causing this? The other problem was that my worms were way too soft, so i added a little hardener but not much. That helped but they were still too soft. Do i just need to add more hardener? How much hardener would you reccomend for 4oz of plastic when pouring the worms?? thanks, adam
  18. Well i'm finally going to start making my first pours in the next couple days. I think I have everything but let's make sure. Here's what I have. 1. Calhoun plastic 2. Del 's glitter 3. Del's color 4. Hardener 5. Microwave 6. Pyrex cups 7. Aluminum molds 8. Safety glasses and etc. I think i have everything i need to get a good start. Am i correct or am i missing something? Also before i pour the plastic into the cup do i need to shake it? If so, how much? I guess what i'm looking for is a list of things to do in order from the very start until the very end. Thanks in advance. You guys have been very helpful in the process of getting a newbie started. I will post pics when i get some done.
  19. Almost ready to start pouring my own baits as i've gotten almost all my stuff in and in place. Went to wal-mart last night to pick up my pyrex measuring cups. (will be using microwave to heat plastic) However the only cups wal-mart had was made by "anchor" they looked and felt like a pyrex but wasn't the pyrex brand. Does anybody use the anchor? Would it work just as well or do you all prefer the pyrex? thanks, adam
  20. oh i had no idea they were $600. I too will pass on that. Has anyone made a homemade pot like this? Just seems like it would be much easier to open a valve and pour out rather than trying to pour out of a cup. Thoughts??
  21. Does anyone use the sta worm pots? I was planning on using a pyrex cup to pour with, but after looking these over i'm thinking of heating my plastic with the pyrex cup in a microwave, then putting it into the sta warm pot and pouring it out of that. Does anyone do it like this? Do the sta warm pots pour with a valve release or what?
  22. Do the infrared ones work well? I was thinking that the surface temp of the plastic may differ a little from the middle or bottom? Or is it usually the same? I was thinking it may be better to get a thermometer with a tip that you stick down into the plastic? What are your thoughts on this? Would the infrared one be just as accurate as the on with the stick in tip?
  23. I was browsing cabelas website and noticed they have a laser infrared thermometer that reads temps from around 75-400 degrees. I was wondering if anyone uses anything like this to measure the temp of your plastic when pouring? seems like it would be a good tool to help with consistency. any thoughts??
  24. Can anyone tell me where i can get a two piece finesse worm mold? I'm looking for one that looks like the zoom worm. I have found the one piece at netcraft but can't come up with the two piece. Anyone know? thanks
  25. I have found some two piece worm and senko molds, but is there anywhere to find a two piece brush hog mold? Having trouble finding two piece molds. Any ideas where to look??
