  1. Any suggestions on a high heat addhesive? I read somewhere but cannot find now any shoutout would be appreciated. Chris
  2. I use this claims to be a bit harder than plaster. Instead of inbedment I affix the postive to the bottom of the mold container and I pour over the positive I've gotten great results almost smooth as glass, I suppose because the water is heavier and air bubbles rise. And it is also available at Michael's. Activa's Art Plaster Chris
  3. Not familiar with pottery so the question I have do they make a fluid version of the material they use, would be nice to pour and bake in the oven since pottery turns glass like and glazed it would be non stick? But I've tried and as stated the POP turns crumbly and powdery dry. Chris
  4. Sorry my first post had a pdf link that I tried to resize and only now realize I cannot edit to repair the broken link, still a greenhorn here:nuhuh: [/url]Valve.pdf Chris
  5. I was encouraged to "lurk" as the site condones and read a thread where someone just starting out like myself was recomended to start off slow and easy and work your way into it, what a motivator;). I was watching "how its made" episode on induction heating of parts which set the wheels turning and a curling iron sounded about right to keep the flow for at least a good sized 4 cavity mold. I'm almost completed and can't pour until I get some molds and gear, but hopefully I'll already have woked out the kinks with my starter kit. Picks will follow good or bad! Chris
  6. I wasn't sure if my PDF would work so I left out that the divider goes all the way through the nipple and prevents mixing on the way down.
  7. I'm fooling around with this idea and would like any comments good or bad. I can't even pour yet I'm waiting for money to start pouring quanity and I don't have a 2-peice mold yet but figured I'd see if I could come up with something useful while I wait. To the Mods not sure if this is against site rules so take no offense this is the first time I'm trying a PDF file to prevent bandwith issues. Thanks. https://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=8719ae8a-475f-4bbc-8b6c-3d61eded885c' rel="external nofollow">
  8. Has anyone used those floating bubbles that LC sells? Is it for this purpose or something else? Chris
  9. Hey Jim thanks for the speedy response, I just googled presto and found listings for several units, is this pot the same as the wax melter? if so seemed pretty resonable but looks like I may need to ad a smaller spigot to acheive better pour control. I guess my next question would be should I make a stir motor to keep salt, sand, glitter and the like suspended prior to pouring looks easy enough. Thanks, Chris
  10. Looking into buying a Lee production pot anybody using one, how is it for 2 piece molds. Also looking to buy 5 gallons of plastisol, besides the settling issue does it have a shelf life? I'm only pouring for my own needs. Chris
  11. Hi folks new to the site and worm making, found it's like eating that first potato chip and it's all over:lolhuh: Anyhow I've made some plaster molds which surprisingly work quite well my question is has anybody heard of painting the mold with high temp engine paint? I've had some small issues with release, I've tried silicone sealer for grout but results didn't seem to change. Appreciate any feedback pos or neg. Thanks, Chris
