  1. I have tons of stuff! The wife says it is time to unload. I used to own a small lure company. My loss is your gain. Asking $700 or best offer for EVERYTHING. If you are interested please email me at DHancock13@yahoo.com Thanks
  3. Does anyone have a resource for the chatter/shakey style of blades. Barlows and Janns carries them for around 25 cents a piece, but I was hoping I could find them cheaper Thanks in advance
  4. For example......Janns, Barlows, Hagens sells unpainted lead football jigs with the weed guard casted in. It would be a pain in the butt to try and protect the weed guard from warping if I wanted to powder paint and cure. I know some of you are doing it, but I dont want the hassle. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knows where you can pick up unpainted weedless jigs with the weed guard not yet attached. I would be interested in any style of jigs (football, arky, bullet, etc.)
  5. Anyone know where I can find unpainted weedless jigs with a unattached glue in weed guard? I want to be able to powder coat the jigs various colors, cure them, and then just glue in the weed guard myself.
  6. Thanks for the input...... Im thinking about using clear coat powder paint w/ glitter over an unpainted lead shad head with adhesive eyes. Do you think the clear w/ glitter over the raw lead would give me a good shimmer. Getting ready to place an order.......I'm going to experiment, but thought I would get some feedback before I spend all of my (the wifes) money!!
  7. I did a search and noticed that a lot of you seal and cover your eyes with an epoxy. Has anyone tried a clear powder paint over adhesive eyes? What were the results?
  8. I have done a search here, and through google. Have checked the various places to purchase Clamshells......Janns, Stamina, Placon, Andex, etc..... The cheapest I have found so far is eclamshell.com...... @ 21 cents per. Im looking for a rectangle shaped clamshell with an inside length of 1", width 4", and depth 1" Anyone have any other resources??? Or is this a good deal??
  9. Has anyone here every applied a chrome finish to their lead. Or had it done?? I like the chrome finish for jigging spoons, but it is cheaper to buy the lead ones. The lead is easy to paint, but was wondering if it is easy/hard........cheap/pricey......to get a chromed look???
  10. Im thinking about Powder Painting the lead I use for my lures. My question to you all is what kind of coverage are you getting? I know this may be an impossible question to answer, but if any of you are painting in bulk, can you tell me roughly about how many 1/2 oz jig heads I could paint from a 2oz jar. Thanks
  11. Thanks for all the great info. You guys have great input and bring up some great points. I read on here somewhere else that a 40% mark down from retail is common. Have any of you heard this?? If I have a lure that retails for $3.99, I can sell it wholesale to tackle shops for around $2.40 ?????? I realize each shop may have their own opinion, but what do you guys think??
  12. Just for the record..... I do enjoy making lures, and it is a hobby of mine. But lets say a guy wanted to box a few up and take them to his local tackle shop, and see if he could make a buck or two, especially when his family could use a bit more change in the pocket, I dont see the harm in it.......... And there are hobbyist on here selling their lures. My question to "them" is how do you go about doing it. If for example it cost you $1 to make, you think it could retail for $4, what are you selling it to shops for. Just wanted to see some examples to get an idea.
  13. Im interested in how the pricing game works. I was wondering if some of you could give some examples. How much does your lure cost to build? What does it retail for? What price would you offer to a dealer? What are the industry trends?
  14. Check out Worth Tackle Manufacturing...
  15. Hey everyone. I have a lure design that I am working on that requires either a bullet weight, or a skirted bullet weight. (Still trying to decide) I have never poured my own lead before, have considered it, but in the mean time figure it would be less time consuming to just buy in bulk. Does anyone know where I can pick up either in bulk? Or is there anyone that pours that is interested in taking an order? (Hope that is o.k. to ask here) The cheapest I have found online averages about .12 cents per. I am hoping I can do better than that. Thanks
