  1. Thanks, she is everything I could ask for. I don't find it to be tippy at all. Just really try to keep everything balanced when you plan out the design. With it being a shallow v it helps. Flat bottom would of been a no go.
  2. Thanks a lot, my company actually has an account with Mcmaster so I will order Stainless Steel Wire (Type 304) Soft Temper, .041" Dia, 1/4-lb Spool.
  3. Sorry, I should of said what it was for. Large and small mouth, maybe a walleye or two, lol.
  4. I am gathering the necessary supplies to try and make a hardbait or two during the freezing months in the northeast. Can anyone tell me what wire diameter is a good choice for through wire construction on a hard bait? Thanks for your time, I really enjoy reading the website. It really keeps me sane during the winter months when I don't fish.
  5. Here is my 14' Aerocraft w/ 15hp gamefisher motor. I fished it for the second half of 2011 to see how I liked it. Then in spring of 2012, I modded the whole thing. Here it is:
  6. Also, for anyone interested, Dick Blick (art supply place) has the styrene sheets in different sizes at a decent price. The sheets are .05" and come in standard photo sizes: 5 x 7 8 x 10 9 x 12 etc.....
  7. Just a thought but, what do you guys think about using the vacuumed forms for the scaling stencil. This is what I am thinking... 1. Make the form or mold 2. Cut out the area to be covered by scales 3. Epoxy your mesh netting all around the plastic form (both sides) 4. Put together, around the blank, with the clamps or binder clips 5. Paint Anyone got any thoughts?
  8. You know, I completely forgot about that stuff. I use to use it from time to time on figures and sculptures I did to mask off .
  9. What is your mix ratio with the lacquer thinner? Assuming you are doing just one bait, say 4-5"? You are probably dealing with a nickel or penny sized amount of Devcon, how much thinner? Is there a consistency that you are trying to achieve or just a thorough mixture?
  10. Can you thin it with regular rubbing or isopropyl alcohol or does it have to be denatured? Isopropyl Alcohol
  11. The stuff has great molding and sculpting properties as well as the ability to be sanded and painted. Has anyone tried using this stuff to make a hardbait? Just an idea I came up with while brainstorming.
  12. I payed 15 bucks for it. I like the fact that it is smaller and on a roll. It is thinner than regular foil and the ability to do either silver or gold without buying two rolls was great.
  13. Is there a trick to applying the foil? I see some that are just so smooth. I bought a roll of 5" x 250' foil at the local beauty supply place. It is real thin, gold on one side and silver on the other. I played with it for a few minutes yesterday but today I am going to get to business and I will let you know how it went.
