  1. Maybe you guys have seen something like this before, but a guy posted this on a facebook swap shop earlier called "Bass Baits Buy and Barter" Seems like a super good idea. If he is the first to sell something like this, I have a feeling he may have wanted to keep it to himself until he could make it his own. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=914491778566521&set=pcb.1526618690890948&type=1&theater
  2. These were the best how to videos I found for lead and jig pouring. By Jason Sealock from Wired2Fish. Hope they help you. Jig Pouring Powder Painting Jig Heads Creating and adding skirts Tying your skirts with wire.
  3. Thank you. I'll have to give some a try. I won't hold it again you if your wrong but do you have a guess as to which might look close to the one in the picture?
  4. Yeah that is my main concern. I really like the one wire this tube jig I added above has. I've looked at home depot and walmart for a wire similar to it but have been unable to come up with anything close. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I could find wire like that? I'd assume it comes in a long strand and they just cut it to whats needed
  5. I like a light wire football jig as well. I currently use the 4/0 for football head. I've only found it at barlows. http://www.barlowstackle.com/Eagle-Claw-L2798BP-Jig-Hook-P2633.aspx Its identical to the Mustad 32798 flat eye but a little lighter diameter. Black nickel and I've been extremely pleased with how sharp they are.
  6. Thanks for all the input. Do any of you use the wacky jig mold and the Do-it wacky jighead wire? I was curious if the wire is simlar in stiffness to the jig head I'm wanting to make. If not I'll have to find my own wire. Thats a 3/8 ounce head in the pic for reference
  7. Yeah I can get by with running it in with it being tied. I find that usually by the time I need a new tube I need to retie my line anyways so I just tie on after rigging up and get a smaller hole by pushing just the line tie and guard through
  8. Yes your right, it is the one with the tapered end. Thanks! What we do is bend the wire straight up and insert the tip of the wire first. It will poke out near but not exactly at the top. I then bend the wire down and it will tear just a really small hole, almost perfect for the guard and the eye to pop through. Heres a pic that might help explain
  9. Thats a really good idea, I appreciate the tip!
  10. I am looking to find a mold for a weedless wire tube jig that is very popular on a local river for small mouth. I have found several molds which looks correct except none of them seem to have a wire included. Here is the mold that I believe is similar http://www.barlowstackle.com/Do-It-Tube-Skirt-Jig-Molds-P213.aspx Anyone know of any do-it molds that would work? or will I have to modify one of the basic tube jig head molds? If that's the case any tips on how to make this viable? Appreciate any responses and tips.
  11. Not to kick up a post from the grave, but I've been reading all these and maybe this is a stupid question, but as long as there is not patent on a bait, ie. on their website, or packaging, are you ok to make a POP mold and pour them for your own use?
  12. heres a youtube video that i think will answer a bunch of the questions you've asked
