... ehm, dear sirs, you changed the contest box from the hand made hard bait to the fly one, but it is not a fly lure, it weighs more than 1 oz., it is used with bait casting rod, it is for Pike. Now it is a surface bait, but it is usual to add a jika weight to work it under surface, moreover there is a trailer in plastisol ... are you sure about this changing?

Fake Miuras Mouse
I personally know the nice Maurizio Carini and I think his baits are definitely brilliant. I saw and touched his Big Mouses and my interpretation is at least .. fake. The ingredients are very simple: bucktail, fly assembly thread, copper wire, swivels, split rings, treble hooks, mono wire and pipes, crystal flash, 3D eyes and ... the cork, naturally from a strictly Italian Spumante. Ah, I also injected the big grub in plastisol ... recycled.

The body base has been obtained with black powder pigment in hot plastisol. After injection in this new mold and curing the body has been "painted" with such shifting emerald green powder pigment using a make up sponge. Top coat is my cold transparent type: 50% PVC glue + 50% MEK, gently brushed over body ... that's all.

A branch of Po river, the biggest Italian river, called "Po di Maistra", conserves its ancient and wild aspect, for this reason has been compared to the Florida Channels ... so I will try these Craws (Mad Man) also there. Moreover, together with Bass, we have got the Killer Crawfish (that one from Louisiana), too.

Really beautiful and realistic. Did you use a real trout to realize a silicone mold (I suppose) or did you carve your master?
Good Job. Bye.

Well done. Mylar insert I presume. If yes, do you cut the mylar tube in two pcs. or leave it whole?

Great, but perhaps I do not understand: did you pour it in a silicone mold, or did you pour it with silicone raw material?

They are 9 cm long (around 4') and yes they could be used for drop shot, too. I usually use a jig head. The mould has got other 3 lenghts: 5, 7 and 11 cm. I put 2 pcs. of mylar tube on the sides of all 4 cavities.

Dear JDNO7, simply cut a pc. of mylar tube, with a dia. proportioned to the bait body, in 2 pcs. per length and glue them on the incave of valves with paper glue. In such way the mylar texture will be immediately down a thinner skin of plastic.
Bye.

Dear Ben, thank you very much, i'm honoured of your comment. It's a really simple thing to do, You have only to find the right way to block the piece of mylar inside your preffered swimbait mould.
Bye.

I worked in a Fine Blanking Factory that usually uses copper machined electrodes for steel mold. It has been first time that they used graphite and aluminium, said that we spent around two hours for each side, worked in different moments, in fact you can see on plastic output a mismatch mistake between two halves. After this "experiment", made for joke, they discovered a lot of improvements to realize same mold in less time and especially without mistake ... but it is not their core buisiness.
Bye.
