  1. Hey guys thanks for the feedback. Problem was my computer.
  2. Anyone made an order lately? Have tried several times this morning. It says proceed to check out but that's as far as it goes. Thanks
  3. Jighooper I have made countless molds from Durhams water putty. After a while they will start to break down. The key is to not pour to many at one time. I generally pour 6 - 8 at a time. I’m still using molds I made two years ago. When I make a mold I bake them at 250 degrees for an hour to get them dry. Pouring a mold that still has moister will spew lead like a volcano. Before I pour I dust the cavities with talcum powder for better lead flow. If I can figure out how to post a picture I’ll show you a couple I have made.
  4. 5/8 is 1/2 inch wide x 1/2 inch long. 9/16 is 1/2 inch wide x 7/16 inch long. 5/8 is 1.771 grams heavier.
  5. Not sure why you want a short shank hook for your chatterbait. I want to keep the blade a good distance from the hook point to ensure a hook up. Currently I’m using the Owner straight shank worm hook in 4 and 5/0 and also the Bass Pro Shops straight shank worm hook in 5/0. No problems with either of these.
  6. Sorry for the late reply. Currently using using the do-it style S bass jig mold JKS 3-A-Y and a mold I made for hair jigs. Just for an example I have a Shawn Collins stand up jig mold that resembles a D& L Advantage jig. The 1/2 ounce uses a Mustad 4/0 with a wire diameter of 0.059. I would like this same size hook but with a diameter of 0.051.
  7. Going against the grain on this one. I have never been a fan of a heavy wire hooks and it seems that every manufacturer when they produce a hook with a wider gap they go up in hook length and hook diameter. I do understand the need for a heavy hook for short line fishing and using braid such as when flipping. For me when I'm fishing a jig in deep water I want a thinner wire hook and I want a wide gap. Currently I'm taking a Mustad 6/0 32746 and bending it to 60 degrees to fit my mold. its wire diameter is .052. If you look at the Mustard 32786 4/0 60 degree its close in length and gap size as the 32746 but its diameter jumps up 8 thousands. Why not make a 60 degree the same as the 32746?
  8. Thanks for pointing that out. Makes sense. May even make the blade start quicker.
  9. Thanks Mark, this is an addictive habit.
  10. This one I made a mold of an under spin I snagged into. Looks some what like the one Molix makes.
  11. Zoom twin tail grub, Strike King Menace grub and a Zoom Z Craw.
  12. This is where i made the coil and screwed it on the jig, powdered coated and baked
  13. What I did was dremel out the area to except the coil on both sides of the mold but what I do now is make the coil and screw up on the jig head. Then I powder coat and cure. This will lock it to the jig head.
  14. Yep. Used them years ago. Used to flip them around standing temper. Made a mold and wanted to see wire length and angle.
  15. Thanks guys. That’s exactly what I was looking for.
  16. Anyone by chance have an old Strike King Short arm spinnerbait that came with a weed guard they could post a picture of? Can't find any on the web. Thanks
  17. I spray my molds with liquid graphite. Prior to pouring I dust the cavities with talcum powder and blow off excess. After several pours I re-dust. Also make sure you mold and hook are hot.

    Swim jig

Looks very similar to the Boss swim jig at fishingskirts.com
  19. I wish they would put something on their web site stating they are at least trying to get inventory. Two years and still out of finesse cut material and several other tabs.
