  1. This is an old football head mold. The first thing I did was to pour a head with no hook so I could place back in the mold(put a little oil on it) to stop the JB Weld from getting in the head cavity. I drilled a whole on both sides of the mold just big enough for the clip end. I didn't drill right up to the head as to leave a little of the hook area. Filled the hook area on both sides with JB weld. I over filled just a little and then let the JB weld almost set and then cut it level to the mold surface. Its best to put a film of oil on the razor blade so the JB won't stick to it. Use a little cotton in the whole to make the clip lay as shown and then close the mold tight to make an imprint in the JB weld. This was done to the 1/2 and 3/4 oz. I used a number 3 clip. Hope this helps.
  2. Thanks smalljaw. I'll try the little nasty
  3. Looked on Eagle Claw's web site and it showed the L570VP PRO-V JIG HOOK being available July 2019. Don't see where any one has it. Its listed up to a 4/0 but doesn't show how to buy it.
  4. Wonder if I could get your thoughts on this hook. I'm going to make a mold to fish the Damiki rig on. Going to use a 2/0. Which is the better Eagle Claw or Matzuo? Thanks
  5. Hey folks I started fishing swing jigs this summer with football heads I made. Modified an old mold to accept a Mustad Fastach clip. Been thinking of getting the Do-It swing football mold. It would be easier to modify. I was wandering if any of you fish this head made from this mold. Pros, cons. Do you like the flat bottom or prefer the standard type. Thanks
  6. For those who make their own A rigs, how long do you like your arms to be? If you make some with spinner blades what sizes do you use. Thanks
  7. Smoke/Blue, Black flake silicon skirting-MPF36 Livingrubber.com Cant tell if the flake in your sample is blue or green
  8. Has anyone used the new Old School Square Rubber from fishingskirts.com? This stuff looks pretty awesome. A lot of it looks like the dalmation silicone. Thanks
  9. Bait was produced in Indiana in the 1940's
  10. This is an old lure. One that my dad used. It's as old as some of the other baits you have there.
  11. That is a Jack's Dual Spinner.
  12. 1 tab has 22 strands . A lot of jigs are two tabs(44 strands) but it depends on how bulky you want it. Most of the ones I tie are 44 - 55 with some of those 44 - 55 being hi-lite colors.
  13. Mark go to youtube and type in How to make shallow screws for Soft Plastic Lures in seconds. Pretty neat video.
  14. Sure do thank you for taking the time to do this.
  15. Cadman I'm using a poison swing tail mold for my chatter baits. I make my own S hooks for the eyelet and did just a little modification to the mold so I could put a spring wire plastics keeper on the hook shank. I'm looking for a straight shank hook at least 2 1/8 or 2 1/4 inches long with regular wire but with a big gap. The 5/0 Mustard spinner bait hook is 2 1/4 inches long. this sets the hook further back from the blade. With this all being said, its probably just in my head. The first ones I made this spring I caught back to back 5 pounders and a 7.1 and the hook was aMustad 4/0 MrB would you measure your Owner 4/O length and gap width. I thought about using the Owner straight shank 5/0 worm hook but it got bad reviews. Review sad the point would roll. over. Thanks
  16. MrB thanks for measuring these hooks. Was thinking of using this hook for the chatter baits I make. Im not a big fan of Mustard hooks. Im currently using the Mustad 5/0 spinnerbait hook.
  17. This may only be a LPO hook. Its not listed in the Gamy 2018 catalog( or at least I didn't see it). But if anyone tries this hook in the 4 or 5/0 size would you please measure its length and the gap width. Thanks
  18. Two months since this thread started. More items out of stock and nothing coming in.
  19. Every year they know this happens. So why not double your inventory of the most popular colors. Not bashing, Fishingskirts.com is great but guess I just don't understand business. Couple of colors I use have been out stock for months.
  20. GLC is Greene Le Corporation. They are the ones who make Fishingingskirts.com skirt material , weed guards . glcfishing.com
  21. Thanks Apdriver. They had a place to check it you wanted less. 5.99 for 2oz's. Rather be out 6.00 instead of 22.00 if it didn't work.
  22. Do they make and has anyone used candy black powder paint? Trying to get a semi close black nickel look. Thanks
  23. Yea I'm sure that's it. I would ar least like to see them carry it in the most popular colors of the regular cut. If they did that that would cover what I need.
