  5. Yea i really like the tail on that thing! obviously has like your "skinny dipper" body but the extended tail different tail to it is cool
  6. I do that same thing and its awesome! Try to find the biggest size holes that will fit it. Trust me it will still process it small but it makes it much easier to use

  10. Thanks guys! i definitely being as careful as I can with the temps and I don't use a micro with it so It should be "nicer" to the plastic and glitter lol who's have you found that you prefer? Looking for some suggestions on purple glitter suppliers people are happy with Thanks!
  11. Hey Guys Quick question here.. so I'm noticing that my purple seems to be bleeding off a little and changing the color of my baits from the start to the end of a batch. and I know i know.. don't get too hot but I cook it up and then drop it down to 310-315 then add glitter and never let it get hotter than that. But what Im noticing is that colors I use with large purple glitter look great at first and then get a "dirty" look to them where it seems like the purple is effecting them or bleeding a little to change the color. for example: watermelon candy or i make a smoke with purple glitter. Question is, I know all the suppliers have high heat resistant glitter but have you found any to be better than others? Thank you! Brian
  12. exactly what archery said! try someones hard or regular formula AND their salt water version as well try them out in small amounts and see which you like. MF plastic has it covered I think for that good luck!
  13. Yup ill keep y'all posted when new ones arrive
  14. Just spoke with Bob.. he said he has no idea why they would be like that and he wants me to send them back and he will replace all of them for me. he said the material he has been using is the same stuff he's been using for 15 yrs so there should be no variance. Either way as long as the new ones arrive and seem the same as previous molds Ill be happy
  15. Yea its not one mold though its the whole order so 8 cavities of the 702 craw and 12 cavities of the tip claw molds too EXACTLY!! - you tell something is different and feels more gritty instead of smooth and i wouldn't mind as long as the baits turned out the same but they come out dull where as all others come out with a shiny finish if that makes any sense
  16. Ok Ill try the hot soapy water I guess Never had to do this for any molds before but ill give it shot Thank you Brian
  17. Ok I need some input This will be hard to explain but ill try.. So I got molds from BTS and the molds felt a little different kind like a rougher surface if that makes sense. Didnt think much of it and then I started shooting baits with it and cleaning out the molds from aluminum residue from the machine cutting. Now from a design aspect they are EXACTLY the same but the aluminum feels different then the other molds not as clean and smooth feeling. the issue is the baits are coming out cloudy like cloudy surface to it and the molds Ive already had come out nice and clean and have like a shiny finish to them. These don't have that shiny finish to them more cloudy like. Now I know this can happen the first couple shots with new molds from the cutting process and the excess aluminum dust but these molds have been shot over 15 times and still not coming out clean and shiny Please help! Is it possible they are using a lower grade of aluminum now to save costs and the quality of the bait suffers? Not sure if it ay be an aluminum blend or if there is different levels of quality when is comes to aluminum Thanks for any input!
  18. Please excuse me if I its has already been mentioned but is Mike still making baits? I can't find his website anymore and his account says he hasn't been active on here for a long time Thanks
  19. Yea a hand crank, just use the biggest holes you can find, it will make it a lot easier! I use the ultra molds shooting start big pots and also I hang the baits by their sprues. The bottom of the pots once you start sucking air leaves close to 4 cups worth of plastic at the bottom that can be reused. I cut the big disc of plastic in the semi-strips and send it through the grinder... takes almost no time very quick Brian
  20. You must never have tried it... when I need to cut up 12 cups of grind at a time.. a meat grinder does it in a BREEZE You'll be sitting a while cutting 12 cups of regrind
  21. Hey Y'all! Looking for some help maybe we make a lot of baits and at times need help getting them bagged so I can make more baits. just want to maybe bounce some ideas off everyone. Have you found a good way to find people to help you bag and compensate them for it? Its hard because its on an as need basis its not a guaranteed " job" . Just when we have a lot of bait needing bagged them we need more help type of thing. Were getting ready to bulk up for next year so gunna need the help soon Any ideas of help would be great! thank you! Brian
  22. Ok I gotcha that helps, Ill keep this in mind thank you for that!
  23. Have you used this system and never done 15 gallons a day "easy"? Ive used this for a year and have never been able to get 15 gallons a day not even close actually. Ive noticed that after 24 cups in a pot it will not stir evenly even though technically the capacity is 2.5 gallons. For me once up to temp you'll notice the plastic is too high above the stirrer and the top of the pot doesn't mix with the bottom. maybe thats just me though. the pot just doesn't keep it mixed thoroughly after that. Dont get me wrong, 24 cups and under it works great but i can't do more per pot at once or it doesn't get evenly mixed. if you've had better success could you please share I would love to know how to optimize this more than i currently am
  24. Hey everyone, If anyone has the molds for the basstackle swim bait molds.. 643 - 631- 639 that could send me some samples that would be very helpful! I will pay for them! Also any feedback or comments about them would be much appreciated too Thank you! Brian
  25. Just looking for some help on your favorite scents. I have a couple and I just don't think they are strong enough. I don't want to name companies though just looking for your opinions. I add scent during cook and during bagging and once its absorbed by the baits I feel they don't have much scent at all. At the same time I don't want to add too much scent because of all the oil you're adding and also the cost. Any options/ideas? Thank you Brian
