  1. Yeah...uhh that's what my calculations are showing....too....yeah LOL, thanks for the input, Dave. I value it and you probably save me some bucks.
  2. I'm going to get a plug in dimmer switch to slow it down.
  3. Okay. I got my Art Resin and after building a turner I tried it out. I really really like it. The gloss and clarity are beautiful. Looking over one of the lure today I noticed a few tiny bubbles. This is a known by-product of the Art Resin and they advise you to use a small artist's torch to get rid of them. I didn't have one. Also they say it is touchable after 8 hours. My basement is pretty cool right now so at 8 hours they were still a little tacky.
  4. Any bubbling problems with the KBS?
  5. How much of this stuff do you need for lures? I bought a bag of swimming craws and noticed the licorice smell (anise oil) and was wondering how hunch you need to use. I'd like to fiddle with make some plastics of my own, but I'm not to keen on hot burning stuff so I may change my mind...
  6. For #5 blades a #6 clevis seems awful big. Try two #4's. I have had good luck with two singles. I make a double French Blade lure and for size 2 and 3 blades I use a pair of #3 and for size 4 blades I use a pair of #4 clevises and they spin like crazy. The double clevis seems like a good thing but I have had better luck with two singles.
  7. Thanks for all the info guys and the stories about the hot rods! What should I look for in a respirator?
  8. I have seen 2.1 VOC 4.2 VOC. etc. I know this means how much solids are in the mix, but what is best for spraying? Do they get to a point where they are hard to work with? Thanks in advance...
  9. Hope this helps? That's an understatement! Thanks for the info! So instead of a V I just slice it and overlap, correct? Jonister, since it is an oval channel the motor can be on the opposite side of the tank.
  10. Dave, One idea I have is to cut wedges, or V's in the cloth. That way when you close those gaps you get a curve. I may get some kinks and to be honest, I'm not worried as much about the cosmetic of it. That in mind, do you think those kinks would affect water flow adversely? Appreciate your input. I'm the guy who figures out how to do something but using 17 extra steps... Moose
  11. Power source: 12v trolling motor Tank will be made by creating a frame in an oval or round shape with an inner wall and an outer wall. Lay fiberglass cloth inside the frame and drape it over the frame on the outside. This will create a channel. I will then use the resin to harden the cloth. It may take a couple layers. I will make sure one area is as smooth as possible so I can cut a section out and put in a plexi window. Round or oval to keep from making turbulent corners. Trolling motors are dirt cheap at flea markets here. Wondering how big I need to make it. I have found 50" wide cloth for pretty cheap...gotta love surfboard makers' supply houses. So, what are your thoughts? Moose
  12. OK, so I have been using a cheapo Chinese airbrush I got from Amazon for $15 shipped. I have done some nice work with it and I am glad I had it so I could get to painting when I did. I just picked up a Neo for Iwata CN (gravity feed). Ummm yeah. What was I waiting for? I know it isn't a top of the line by any means but just the jump in quality (feel, craftsmanship and spray) is amazing. I noticed right away I am using a lot less air than I did with El Junko. Can't wait to do some 'gills!
  13. Thanks! Will it need diluted or can it be used straight? Just curious.
  14. Thanks! It appears that my thinned gloss coat did keep the dots from curling. Happy day.
  15. I am experimenting with using Createx clear gloss over vinyl dots on my lures (I use them for shad dots and cut them in half for gill ears). The problem I had with GST is it made the vinyl curl up and ruined that bait. I tried the gloss but it was very thick so I diluted it a bit like you would a paint...is this correct?
  16. Haven't been on for a while. I love the stuff but you must let it cure for at least a week.

Really like the pattern and the eyes are a bit creepy lol
  18. Thanks! hehe... I made a little board and have dowels with alligator clips so I can do them in groups of up to 5.
  19. Use a bazooka. (it is my duty to inform you that Tackleunderground, Lure Parts Online and anyone with sense do not condone the use of rocket propelled explosives in the clearing of jig eyes due to the real possibility of injury, death or dismemberment) Or use a hot wire...I guess that will work too....
