  1. Hi Anglinarcher...and Mark... No doesn't have to be Kelvar...just what Egret lures claims to use... Thought of nylon or other,, but in talking to an Alumililte rep...he thought their soft plastic would clash with nylon materials...reason for the resulting search for kelvar....wedding veil material might just be all i need as using Plastic Sol medium plastic....thanks guys for coming up with possibly a more feasible material! Boyd
  2. Hi Driftwood... Yeah....maybe....does it come in a light weight fine mesh ....so that the soft plastic resin can penetrate and adhere to itself? Would it unravel or is there a way to avoid this? ...From observing Egret's Vudu lures it is used tp split the middle of the soft bait acting as middle spine for the soft plastic to adhere to from both sides..mesh size looks to be in the 400 to 500 size...tho not sure about this. Do you have any pics of extra fine Fiberglass mesh of this size...and...have you some experience using it? Thanks much for your response...Boyd
  3. Thanks for the follow up answer....still searching for a flexible Kelvar material used to strengthen soft plastic lures such as Vudu Shrimp and Vudu Mullet...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Boyd
  4. Thanks rixon529...did try that link but wouldn't connect...will try searching at amazon. Seems most kelvar is bonded to a backing..hoped to find just kelvar alone to reduce weight and keep flexible...thanks again for your help. Have you ever used this product you mentioned? Boyd
  5. Any ideas on where to obtain Kelvar mesh? Any experiences....alternatives? Thanks ..Boyd
  6. Hi Musky Glenn...have finished my yak and trailere...can you tell me how to upload a photo here? Thanks...Boyd PS...maybe I've done it correctly...let me know if you get this and if in correct space for public viewing...thanks..Boyd
  7. Hey guys...been off the puter awhile...but wanted to thank everyone for the latest post...so helpful ya'll folks are...wish I'd had ya when I was building the cabin..ha! Wanted to add my two cents re....well...kinda a tool...have been using a couple of Wally World plastic 'tool holders' thingys...lil carosels (sp) like miniture lazy susans with different depth pockets...great for keeping organized on the desk...use mine for files, knives, bodkins, rulers, etc. Sure helps keep the clutter down..and only about $6 bucks apiece. Again guys, thanks for all the help..Boyd
  8. Oh, Glenn...got a real charge out of that story of that duck boat you built...sounds like you're the 'can do kinda guy'..impressive! Boyd
  9. Hi Musky Glenn... Nice to hear from you...and no I've not forgotten I'd promised to post a pic of my kayak ride. As soon as I can figure out how to download a picture here...I'll send it along. Been working hard on getting my trailer built....more to it that I though, but isn't that the usual case? Thanks for reminding me of that pic...Boyd
  10. Jerry...looked up that neat sander on HF....had it on sale for $40 bucks...nice! One thing I've noticed about some of the tools for lure making...can be utilized for other purposes as well...helps in making a decision on purchases...can see where that table top sinder would come in handy for other things as well...thanks for sharing..and providing a link to be able to look at it! Mr Crankbaits...Wow...I have those things...you mean I can make a lure with just those few items...cool! I'll have to quit procrastinating and get started! Thanks for the post! Boyd
  11. Well Glenn...when igit head here figures out how to download a photo, I certainly post it! Just tried, but says format too large...I think I have to go into my 'Aperture' and downsize it...right? I'll get my Bro to assist...he's the puter hacker....but me...barely can get my email...sheese!
  12. Dave, Much obliged....even I might can make that lil gizmo...and fits my budget! Can see why it would be of great use...thanks for sharing. Oh,,,so cool to get a tip from a fella a zillion miles away...TU...a worldwide site for great lure building info...cool! Boyd
  13. Hi Musky Glenn... Cool boat...what I should have done...but no...went crazy and got a kayak...whole new world fishing outta one of those suckers...tis stealthy though...and I cheated and added a trolling motor....frowned upon by the true kayaker...oh well! As soon as I learn how to cut down a photo that will fit this site..will post one of my yaller boat. Boyd
