  1. For the last few days I haven't been able to access the forums via the Tapatalk application. Does anyone else use this app and having the same problems?
  2. Awesome. I love your videos, I found them on YouTube before finding TU. Thanks for all the time you've spent doing this for new guys like me!
  3. Ah OK, I'm trying to get all the paint off. Sounds like a rookie mistake. Thanks for the advice everyone
  4. Does anyone know of a paint remover I can use with hard plastics that won't melt the plastic but will still take off the paint? I tried Jasco and that melted the plastic but did a fine job removing paint. I have been sanding them down but that's some tedious work.
  5. Thanks for all the replies and advice. I think the idea of taking a class at a local woodshop is a great idea before I dump a bunch of cash on this.
  6. Hey all, I just became interested in making my own wood lures and I'm a complete beginner with turning wood. I've done some research on the net and also watched a ton of tutorials on YouTube and I'm just about ready to purchase some equipment. Can any of you guy make recommendations on the features (horsepower engine, rpm, etc..) I would want on a beginners lathe. I'd like to make lures up to 6" long and 1/2 - 2" in diameter. Does brand matter? I have the same questions about the chisels as well. If anyone can recommend any good resources as well I'd be truly grateful. I'll be completely self taught on using this machine. I assume that to get started using some cheap wood like pine would be best to learn on, but that's just my thinking. Thanks for any advice
  7. Oh yes we are. We should fish sometime and talk lures!
  8. Hey all My name is Scott, Ive been fishing for quite awhile but just started thinking about making my own tackle. Im starting off with some older lures, going to strip the paint and try repainting them into colors I want. I'll post up on the progress as it goes. Thanks for all the great information Scott
