  1. i am a fan of short arm spinners and compact spinners. trial and error is the best way to figure out what you want. what flippinfool said is good advice. buy your regular wire and cut down each end of the shaft to your liking.
  2. looks like it was designed to have the hook going the opposite direction.
  3. i switched over my pot from lead to lead-free. i emptied it out, took it apart and scraped it as clean as i could. did end up buying a new valve rod because it was heavily caked in lead that wasn't easily removed. i buy bismuth and tin separately and mix them myself. anything between 75% to 85% bismuth will work just fine. the tin is added for strength, otherwise the bismuth is too brittle on its own. buy the drop out spray. you need it 100%. when curing the powder paint in the oven you need to reduce temp and extend duration. trial & error
  4. can you share more info on this? maybe a photo?
  5. the top is smoke (black drops) with 035 chartreuse / green / black flake bottom is and amber orange with 015 red flake
  6. thanks for all the feedback. i have checked youtube and wasnt able to do it the way they were doing it. how are people opening them with plyers? it just doesnt work for me.
  7. Trying to open hook eyes for the poison tail jig. Using mustad 32886 and or mustad 91768. I've had the best luck using a punch but they still do not want to open (maybe i need a different punch). I've seen some videos of people using plyers / vice grips but the hook just spins inside and wont grip. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  8. epoxy is going to give you the best results if you take your time and do it right floor wax from walmart (green bottle) is going to work 2nd best
  9. salt gives baits a nice natural feel. it also adds weight to either sink or throw further. yes it saves us money too by being a filler. being a bait maker do you really care how long your baits last? i'd rather catch 20 fish on 20 baits than get 19 fish on the same bait of course there's a hype behind salt, but i think it is a good additive
  10. i use diamond table salt (non-iodine) it will suspend better when you inject your molds. thicker stuff is heavier and will of course sink easier. baits will be cloudy but oh well, i choose action > color
  11. candy bug is junebug or puple with black added. green & purple flake.
  12. you'll want the bigger injector eventually so might as well get it now. for starters you wont need any spare nozzles/caps/orings.
  13. Magic craw is green pumpkin black flake. swirled with green pumpkin black flake blue hilite. add blue colorant to make the hilite stand out more
