  7. Morning, I am curious how to make a hollow body on a swim bait. there has to be an insert of some kind, and most will have a hole in the tail. Can you put a hollow body in any part of a lure? I remember as a kid floating claws were all the rage at one time. I never saw an advantage on the waters I fished as a kid. Any advise, or suggestions would be great. Mick
  8. I have had no issued getting in touch with Bear. I get a reply to text with in the day. His family could use some prayers though.
  9. Frank is right, Kyle and boys at High Rock will listen. Got an idea they are looking at now. I just got the shooting star, and now this video has me questioning the purchase. Frank, your videos are great. All the responses don't seem offensive to me but very informative. Thanks guys. What about the clean up with the shooting star? Frank may be right...going from a light to a dark, no big deal, but going from a dark to a light color...could be bad. I will find out soon enough.
  10. JUst asked me "realistically how many would you buy" told him 3000-5000 still no answer
  11. That is what I was told by an attorney a few weeks ago. I don't know how it applies to a lure that is already being made, as stated by smallmouthaholic.
  12. It hardens the plastic, and causes the plastic not to be as durable. I put it in 4 bags, used one....still caught fish, but I could only catch 2-3 fish before it was sliding up the hook on every cast. I have 3 more on the wall that have been there over the winter. I plan on fishing those in a few weeks.
  13. Frank, I just cut them and it is shrinkage on the dents. no doubt, cut the ones pictured above. There was a few bubble also but there are distinct differences in the two.
  14. I thought a patent was good for 20 yrs. Looks to be 14 yrs, that would put the patent being lifted in 2020. I didn't think the beaver had been out that long.
  15. Frank, I have gotten at least one good bait out of each cavity and it varies between them.
  16. I have seen this video, this was the first thing I watched after looking at another post.on the same topic. I love the action of this bait, the dents don't effect the action, but I am gaining a following for quality lures....and the dents make it tough for me to market this lure. I purge every time I shoot and still get the dents. Do you know what would cause dents.
  17. I have the six oz basstackle injector. monte I am purging before shooting. I have found burrs around the location pins. might be that.
  18. One last thing, I have shot this mold, cold, warm and hot. still have dents or bubbles.
  19. I need your help here. I have this mold and I am only getting a good ratio of 24%. I keep getting dents in the sides and top or bubbles in the claws. This is the 4 cavity mold. Plastic - temps I have tried: 374-1 good, 330 - 1 good, 300 - 1 good, 290 2 good, I tried 270 but got clumps and still only had 1 good one LC ez pour soft, LC soft, and ccm/doit soft speed - 1 count, 3 count, 5 count and 7 count: counting one 1000. 3 count gave me 2 good ones Holding pressure - 5 sec, 10 sec, 30 produced 2 good ones, 1 minute 1 good... Clamping - wing nut that came with it: light pressure - just enough to keep the mold closed, as tight as I can turn still only one good bait irwin clamps - 300 lbs light pressure one good one; as tight as I can squeeze 2 good baits, the closer to the center the better I am thinking it is the mold not venting enough to get rid of the bubble, and the shrinkage is from not being able to pull enough plastic when it cools. ANY ADVICE IS APPRECIATED!!! I am attaching pictures of the dents since this was requested on the previous post about this mold. Feel Free to call me at 502 382 7677
  20. I was wondering if anyone has tried to use silicone for a jig mold? Is it even possible? I have never poured a jig but I was just thinking if a traditional mold was the only way to pour a jig. Mick
  21. I have never heard of this company and it sounds like it is a better way than the presto posts to keep plastic warm. Is this the best out there?
