  1. Is it possible to make my own worm oil to use with the worms I pour. Maybe a garlic or coffee infused oil of some sort?
  2. The heat stabilizer fixed my problem. I borrowed some from a buddy that pours and it worked as expected. Thanks.
  3. I'm looking to pour some clear worms. However I seem to be having some yellowing issues. I'm using caney creek crystal clear regular and as I heat it it turns to a yellowish orange similar to a motor oil type color. Is there a way avoid this and keep the plastic clear?
  4. Something interesting happened earlier...i was trying to mix an orange color (think florida gators orange) I mixed 2 drops LC Red 2 drops LC White and 10 drops LC Yellow to get the color orange I wanted in my mixing container(a metal cap) but when I mixed with plastic it came out very yellow with none of the orange color i was looking for. Anybody have any idea why? I use Caney Creek Crystal Clear plastic if that makes any difference
  5. Looking for suggestions on how to pour a firetail worm....specifically i'm doing Grape w/ heavy blue flake and a pinkish orange firetail. I made an attempt earlier tonight with a small batch but that didnt work out at all. They pulled right apart. Which should I pour first? The tail or worm body? Should I pour the second part while the other is still hot, warm, or completely cool?
  6. Hey everybody here are my first few worms from a test run. POP Mold, sealed with elmers. Caney Creek Crystal Clear medium plastic Lurecraft colors (I mixed my own from basic red, yellow, blue, black, and white) Glitter from ozark tackle
  7. thanks for the replies. I checked out the cookbook on here and it seems to be full of good info. I was also wondering if anybody has any advice mixing my own color blends i.e. mixing red and blue to make a purple/grape color?
  8. hello again everybody I'm waiting on my plastic and other supplies to get here and I'm wondering if anybody has any advice on color blending. I'm looking for formulas or ratios or something similar to mix basic colors into "common" colors you see in soft plastics
  9. Another question for you guys, especially the ones that use or have used POP. What is the best thing to use as a sealer for your molds so that my worms wont come out dull? I watched several youtube videos and they had varying recommendations. I bought some of the spray on Mod Podge Gloss at walmart but now I'm questioning whether its my best choice.
  10. Thanks everybody for the replies...I made some molds with POP after watching a few youtube videos and I think for the time being I'm going to be pleased with those. I'm waiting on my plastisol to get here now. When it does I'll report back with some results from my first few attempts
  11. Hello everybody, I'm new to TU and looking to get into pouring my own worms and other soft plastics. My main question right now is regarding molds. I prefer to fish with a Culprit 7.5" ribbontail and similar worms and would like to pour worms as close to this as possible. I'm looking for advice on the best mold to do this easily and consistently. Would I be better off buying a mold or making my own? If I buy, what mold would you all suggest? If I make my own, how should I do it? Plaster of paris? RTV? Should I make it one or two part? Thanks, FHSFish
